To successfully complete this Quest you will need to work cooperatively in groups of four. Each student in the group will need to assume one of the four roles.

Role 1 Historical Expert- This person will find information on Kansas History.

Role 2 Cultural Expert- This person will find information on Kansas Culture.

Role 3 Entertainment Expert- This person will find information on Entertainment in Kansas.

Role 4 Travel expert- This person will find information on Special Events that happen in Kansas.

Your task is to form an investigative team of four and then select a different person to research the four main aspects of Kansas (Historical, Cultural, Entertainment, Travel). After each person has found at least two places and reported their findings to the group, the group as a whole will work cooperatively in making a two minute PowerPoint demonstration.

 

Process Top of Page

1. Divide into groups of four with each person choosing one of the following jobs:

a) Historical Expert- Find two places that are a part of Kansas History and be able to discuss them in your presentation (example-Where President Eisenhower is from).

b) Cultural Expert- Find two places that have to do with the culture of Kansas and be able to discuss them in your presentation (example- Learn about Swedish population in Lindsborg, KS).

c) Entertainment Expert- Find two places that are known for entertainment in Kansas and be able to discuss them in your presentation (example- World's Largest Ball of Twine in Cawker City, KS).

d) Travel expert- Find two places that host special events every year and be able to discuss them in your presentation (example- Hutchinson, KS host Kansas State Fair).

 Participation Good participation is nothing more that doing what you should be doing when you should be doing it.  10pts
 Group Evaluation Your PowerPoint presentation is a team effort, and you and your partners should contribute equally. At the end  of the project you will get together with your partners and evaluate the contributions each made. You may at  that time, if necessary, redistribute points based on participation.
