Microscope is a very important piece of a science equipment, it allows us to magnify things thousands of times larger then what it is before so we can see theings more clearly. Below it is a light microscope, it mainly uses light as a source to see, it's magnification is around 1000-1500 times, which allows us to see the main parts of a cell, like the membrane, cell wall. But it's disadventages are it can only magnify to a certain level, so if you wants to more smaller parts like necleus or chromosome, then you won't be able to see it, that's when you need a ELECTRON MICROSCOPE! |

Electron microscope is another type of microscope, it allows us to see much smaller things then the light microscope, it's can magnify things up to 1000000 times. How it works is that first the scientists put the specimen (object your are viewing) in to a box where air can't get through it, then all the air has been sucked out so the space becomes a vaccum. A electron beam later is fired, when the electrons hits the object, it bounces back, which creats a certain pattern, and then the pattern is viewed on the computer which turns in a a image. But the disadventage of using a electron microscope is that only dead specimen can be viewed. |
