Impulses for Sonic Foundry's Acoustic Mirror Plugin created by kang Chromatic Resonator Series (12 impulses) This series of impulses uses the 12 notes of the octave, and most octaves of the audible spectrum as the source material. The paino ones use 88 piano samples The other ones use sine or triagle waves from C0 to C9. The effect is similar to that of singing thru a piano with full sustain. The sung notes create a 'sympathetic resonance' causing the strings of the piano to resonate at the same frequencey as the sung note. Using these impulses on unpitched (drums/speech etc.) can be interesting, however they are Best used on melodic, pitched music/solo instruments, especially Brass/Wind instruments. If your source material is greatly out of tune, you will quickly hear it. The 'Damp' ones mean the high notes don't ring as longas the low. The 'Weighted' ones are damped towards the mid/hi range. The 'Chorus' ones are fuller because the contain more frequencies. The 'Detune' ones make all intstruments sound like an out-of-tune piano. The 'Long' ones will turn even the fastest music into slow tone clouds --- --- and bring your puny computer to it's knees. http://www.geocities.com/kangimp kangaroo@asan.com
