Untitled Madness

By Kay De'Vil.

The meeting had ended well for Harrison, he had managed to persuade General Wilson of the need for some new piece of equipment, something Ironhorse was certain to be nothing more than another toy for Blackwood.

Paul had never been so glad to return to his motel room. Harrison had insisted on dragging him around the stores while they where in Washington. Apparently before leaving he had been given a shopping list by Suzanne and Norton, but Paul wasn't fooled he knew damned well that Harrison was the one who wanted to go shopping.

Sighing as he dropped his jacket onto the bed, Paul headed towards the bathroom to start the shower, right at that moment he wanted nothing more than to have a hot shower and relax. As he walked towards the bathroom he began to strip off, first removing his shirt, then his T-shirt. Entering the bathroom he reached behind the shower curtain and started the water running, checking the temperature he adjusted the flow before stripping off completely.

As he stood under the water he allowed the heat and soothing massage of the shower to ease away the tension of the day, closing his eyes he leaned against the wall of the shower, relaxing.

A sound penetrated his mind causing him to stand bolt upright and listen closely. Just outside his room he could hear the sound of the fire alarm. Cursing he grabbed a towel and fastened it around his waste before turning off the water and rushing from the bathroom. He could already smell the smoke coming from somewhere within the motel so he knew this wasn't some childish prank of Harrison's.

Throwing open his motels room door he saw Harrison heading towards him concern written upon the man's face. Waving him off, Paul glanced around. The room next to his was already in flames they where quickly spreading towards his own room so he had no opportunity to return inside for some clothing.

An hour later Paul stood at Harrison's side, shivering in the cold night's air as they watched the firemen finish extinguishing the flames that had consumed his room. Sighing he turned to face Harrison only to find the man studying him from head to toe a grin upon his face.

"Don't!" he growled

"What?" questioned Harrison trying to keep a straight face.

"Don't even think it Blackwood" stated Paul his cold glare cutting deep into the astrophysicist.

But before Harrison could say anything or question what the Colonel was talking about the sound of camera shutters opening and closing surrounded them, and the area was suddenly basked in light from camera flashes. Turning to face the reporters and cameramen Paul tried to level them with his best 'I'm in charge and do what I say' expression but it didn't work. The male reporters just grinned and the female reporters just batted their eyelashes at him, as their eyes wondered up and down his almost completely exposed body.

Harrison's laughter followed Paul as he made his way over to the nearest paramedic and requisitioned a blanket before heading over to their rented car where he locked himself away until everything had calmed down.

End.

Hope you've enjoyed it
