I never got to meet my little sister Kristin. When your only a year old, you don't remember much. I never really knew I had ever had a sister until I was about 11.

My sister was born a premature baby, she was premature by 4 months and her lungs wern't fully developed and she really didn't have a chance. If this happens now in the 00's, the baby has a better chance then they did back in the 70's. The technology is so much better now.

One day we was at the family cemetary seeing another relative when my mom wandered off. I followed her to where she was goling, to a site. There was a marker, but it was covered up. My mom called over my dad to clean it up. He became very upset, and I didn't understand why. Then my mom brought me over to the marker and told me the story of my sister.

I always wonder what it would have been like growing up with her. Both of us playing together, watching TV together, getting into trouble together. what I wouldn't give to have that experience.

After Kristin, my parents had two more boys. Jason, in 79 and my other brother Todd in 82. I like to think Kristin came early and left so fast because she wanted them to make it.
This poem was written by my mom 6 days after Kristin passed. My mom joined Kristin on July 22, 1991. This poem has been in my dads attic, inside a bible, for almost 26 years. I just found it on May 15, 2001.

"An angel came and hushed my baby's cries,
and while I prayed that she might stay,
stopped her breathing, stiffened her little limbs,
and bore her spirit to heaven.
On the brow was written: with God's own finger  Everlasting Peace
On the still breast- Perfect Purity
On the palms of the little hands- No earthly rough scars shall ever stain them.
On the white round feet- Earth's thorns shall never wound them.
On the sealed eyelids- No tears shall wet them.
On the serene lips- No cry of pain shall pass them."
Kristin, no matter how much time goes by, you will always be my little sister. Also, thank you for looking over your nephew, Zachary, born April 21, 2005.
