I got the Sarah Slean album, Blue Parade, for Valentines Day 2000, and I have not stopped listening to is since.  Her Tori Amos meets Fiona Apple sound is unstopable.  Her tone and lyric useage is the best I have heard in years.  I first heard her on WBER 90.5 in Rochester.  Ever since I have loved her.  Here are the lyrics to the songs on the album Blue Parade.

UPDATE:  My roomate Jess and I went and finally saw Sarah in September at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester.  It was fantastic.  The best thing about the show was the fact that she sounds as good if not better live than she does on her cd's.  After the show my roomate and I walked around the back of the theater and got to meet her.  She has very small hands.  She smells nice.  And there was a guy there from the middle east that was totally stalking her and i really did fear for her life for a while... but i think that she got rid of him and is okay now.
