| Chapter 1 |
| "Tell me why can't you just tell your family about us, Amelia?," softly said Brad. "Brad you know the answer to that question. My family is still living in the past and won't get over the whole black and white thing," sadly said Amelia. Slowly a tall shadow of a man could be seen coming around the backyard and a raspy voice being heard. "Amelia, what are you doing outside and who is this boy?," angrily asked Mr. Jacobs. "Um..... I-I can explain this d-daddy, "Amelia stuttered nervously. Taking a few steps into Brad's protective arms. "I can explain Mr. Jacobs. I'm your daughter's boyfriend and I love her very much and I know this is not a very good way of meeting me especially in this situation and-" said Brad being cut off by Mr. Jacobs when his lifted his hand to signal him to shut up. Hatred could be seen in the dark through Mr. Jacobs eyes as he watch his youngest daughter with a white boy and never in his whole life would he have ever thought that she would disobey him. He slowly walked over to the couple and pulled Amelia out of Brad's arms, making her face him. "Amelia get into the house and wait there until I get there," demanded said Mr. Jacobs. "B-but daddy," whined Amelia " No buts young lady. GO!," yelled Mr. Jacobs Before running into the house she took one last look at Brad and whispered softly "I love you" in the air, hoping he heard. When Amelia was in the house, Mr. Jacobs silently studied this boy. Underneath Mr. Jacobs gaze Brad felt very uncomfortable. "This is the going to be the first and last warning I will give you. Stay away from my daughter and if I find out that the two you have been going against my wishes, lets just say that I will hunt you down and make sure that you would never be able to go near her again. "Got it?,"said Mr.. Jacobs in a pissed off tone. " I got it Mr. Jacobs," softly said Brad. " Good, not get off of my property," said Mr. Jacobs with a smirk on his face. Brad walked as fast as his legs could carry him, so he could get away from Mr. Jacobs, but his love for Amelia would never die. Once in the house, Mr. Jacobs was faced with a teary eyed young lady. " WHY!? Can't you let me be happy, that's all I want," yelled Amelia. "You will never see that boy again and I mean it. If I find out you were with him, I will punish you for it. Now, go up to your room and I don't want to hear a peep out of you," said Mr. Jacobs in a calm, but harsh voice. Amelia ran upstairs and slammed her door shut, not caring if she woke up her mother or older sister Tanisha. Getting into her bed she covered her whole body with a comforter, weeping herself to sleep. "Amelia.... Amelia Jean Jacobs," yelled Mya Patrickson. Dragging Amelia out of her daydream of when she fell in love with a white boy at the age of 16 and paid major consequences for her actions. "What is it Mya?," yelled back Amelia "You're going to be late for class and it won't be my fault if you get there late because I warned you," yelled Mya. Looking at the clock beside her, she notices that Mya was right. Running out of her room, she said goodbye to Mya and walked out the door of there small, but spacious apartment. |
