Chapter 17
Two weeks later...
Amelia and Justin had been getting closer and closer while her relationship with Mya was getting worse. Mya and Amelia still haven't said a word to eachother and day by day the tension in the house built. Amelia was tearing herself apart everyday, trying to figure out if Justin is worth losing her best friend and is Mya worth losing a guy that could possibly make her life happy again.

Those were the many thoughts Amelia had while sitting down on the couch eating chocolate. She was brought out of her thoughts as there was a knock at the door. Getting up from the couch, she looked through the peephole and saw her mother. Opening the door she was met with a very pissed off mother. Without saying a word to her daughter, she walked past her and sat on the couch.

Well, that was very unusual. I wonder what have I done now, thought Amelia. Walking to the couch she sat down and was caught in the warth of her mothers angry face and glare.

"Amelia Jean Jacobs, how could you do this to me...us...the family?," said Mrs. Jacobs in an disgusting tone.

"What do you mean? I haven't done anything," said Amelia with a confused look and tone.

"Oh, please. Amelia, how could you forget what happened when you disobey our orders? You lied to me about if you had met someone and now I know why," said Mrs. Jacobs.

When her mother said those last words, she turned pale and knew what her mother was so angry about and her family finding out was her worst fear. This was a nightmare and the only person she could come up with who knew she met Justin was Mya.

"Aren't you going to say something to me, instead of staring at me?," screamed Mrs. Jacobs.

Before Amelia even opened her mouth, Mrs. Jacobs continued. " I-I just can't believe it. Why is it that you can't be like your sister Tanisha? She always follow the rules. You for some reason have always tend to go another direction from the rest of us. You have given me and your father a hard time for the past, what...5 to 6 years. I just don't get it," pleaded Mrs. Jacobs.

"First off, don't ever compare me to Tanisha. I will never be her and I won't be like her. Mom I like being different and what is so wrong with it? So, I was just wondering, how did you find out about Justin? Mya, right?," said Amelia.

"Why yes, I did find out from Mya. She has also told me about the tension that this... this
boy has done to your friendship with her," scoffed Mrs. Jacobs.

"Justin may be one of the reasons that we are fighting, but I don't like the way she has handled it," said Amelia.

"Ha, and you think that we like it? Your father had steam coming out of his ears when Mya mentioned that he was a
white boy, Tanisha sat there shaking her head in disgust and I was just pissed like your father. She told us everything and about you going to his house and not coming back into late nights. What is that all about Amelia?," said Mrs. Jacobs.

"Mom, that is none of your bussiness. Justin and I are just friends and we get along very well. I really don't care what any of you have to say about Justin and our friendship because I have taken it for too long. I am 20 years old and can live my life the way I want to live my life," said Amelia with her head up high and with pride.

Taken back by her daughters forwardness, she took a step back. Never in her life had she ever talk in that tone towards her and became angry at the fact that this Jutin boy was changing her little girl.

"I will not take this kind of treatment from my child. I'm leaving, but this disscussion is far from over," huffed Mrs. Jacobs, slamming the front door.

Sighing, Amelia couldn't believe that she had just stood up to her mother like that and  even though she and Mya were fighting, Mya took it upon herslf to have her family hate her as well. This had hurt Amelia and didn't know what to feel anymore towards Mya. Mya had broken one of the most important rules of friendship,
trust.
