Henry Albert Gerhardt
Born: Nov. 26, 1914, Netawaka, KS
Died: Nov. 12, 1995, Holton, KS
Farmer, County Commissioner

In an OpEd piece in Monday, Nov. 20, 1995's
Holton Recorder, Leslie C. McDaniel wrote this about Henry:

" This area is rich in caring, motivated individuals who routinely go beyond the call of duty.  Henry Gerhardt, who died recently, is a prime example.  Henry served his community in countless ways, but most notably as county commissioner and a life-long active member of his church.  In a quiet but tenacious manner, Henry gave his best whatever the cause.  Operating with dignity and honor, Henry embodied the values of duty, commitment and responsibility.  He understood the importance of community, and worked tirelessly to make this a better place to live.  We are diminished by his passing, but enriched by the service he so freely gave."
