Pachaiyappa's Higher Secondary School At 150+ years, this is one of the oldest schools in India. It belongs to the Pachaiyppa Educational Trust, named after a 19th Century Translator for British officials - "Vallal" Pachaiyappan. The trust runs several schools and colleges in the state of Tamilnadu. This school and the other colleges belonging to the trust boast of their "alumni" club which looks like a who's who of Tamilnadu politics. Several leaders of what started as the Dravidar Kazhagam, including Dr. C.N. Annadurai took their first steps in politics in the hallways of Pachaiyappa institutions.
