TITLES!!
RETRIEVAL PROFICIENCY TEST (RPT)
A qualifying score is achieved if the dog retrieves the object (handler's choice) from a distance of 10 yards to the handler's hand or drops it withing the handler's box.  Any healthy dog over 16 weeks can attempt an RPT.  An RPT is needed to continue on into competition at CDDA sanctioned trials.
SINGLE DISC TITLES
BASIC DISC DOG (BDD)
This is earned when the dog and handler achieve 4 qualifying legs.  A leg is earned when a dog successfully catches a disc at or over the 20 yard line, four times within the first seven throws, and within two one-minute rounds at a CDDA sanctioned trial.
ADVANCED DISC DOG (ADD)
After attaining a Basic Disc Dog Title, dogs and handlers can start to work towards their ADD.  This title is achieved when the dog and handler achieve four qualifying advanced "legs".  An advanced leg is achieved when a dog successfully catches the disc four times at or over the 30 yard line in CDDA sanctioned trials.  The four catches must be made with the first seven throws, within two two-minute rounds.
FREESTYLE TITLES
BASIC DISC FREESTYLE (BDF) or NOVICE FREESTYLE
This is a competition in which dog and handler teams compete with disc routines to music.  The choice of music and routine are at the handler' discretion.  Routines must be a maximum of 90 seconds.  Required elements include catches, tricks, and artistic impression and are scored out of 100 points.  See a current copy of CDDA Rules & Regulations for more info on scoring in freestyle.

THE REQUIRED MOVES ARE:

Long throws - Must be reasonable distance, such as about 20 yards.

A set of multiple catches - at least 3 in a row.  Multiples must be directed straight at the dog and not done in any fancy way.  This is Novice Single Disc.

One crossover - the dog must catch the disc going one way infront of you and then crosses in front or behind you as he runs to catch another disc thrown by you.

One over the body catch - the dog must catch the disc while jumping over the body, or part of the body.  If it is a limb, the limb must be off the ground.

One under the body catch.

You must complete at least 10 catches successfully to qualify.
MINI DISC CLASSES
These classes are the same as regular Disc Dog classes but are for dogs that are 15 inches or less.  The Mini Disc Division uses the smaller Humphrey Flyer Disc.
