| Pizza parties, rain dances in the garage, glow-in-the-dark neclaces, and NASCAR bets & beads... ...Kamp Kemperman has it ALL! |
| We opened Kamp this year with a make-it-yourself Pizza Party. While the Wakeboard Crew * was out in the fading daylight, little sister, Stella, made some of the best pizzas ever - with a little help from Tammy & Jessica. Later, Dave, Dawn, & Michaela joined us for cocketails, etc. on the deck! (Whitney was totally immersed in the new Harry Potter (#6) - only hours old!) * (Wakeboard Crew = "FacePlant," "ButtSpank," "HeadKnocker," Eric, & Cary - with Dan & lil' Brandon) |
| Kamp Kemperman '05 Saturday: |
| The first Kampers to arrive were Bob, Dawn, Kacey, & Sadie - direct from a one-week engagement at Kimball Camp! (Bob just couldn't keep his hands off my new knocker...beside the door.) Unfortunately, we had an unexpected guest at Kamp this year as the remnants of Hurricane Dennis kept things pretty damp & dreary through most of the afternoon. Cruises were cancelled (a few kids cruises did launch), and tents didn't get pitched until late in the day. As night fell, we all donned our glow-in-the-dark necklaces. How fun! They were cool additions to Hyonmi & Kylie's rain dance in the garage...and made us all forget about missing the kampfire, s'mores, & hobo pies! BTW, for the record, I had no idea that Kamp Kemperman shirts would be so popular when I suggested them. I spent most of Saturday night slaving over a hot iron to complete nearly 30 shirts! WHEW!!! |

| Artist Extraordinaire Dylan graced the Kamp waterfront during the night with a great art installation. The willowy white whisps looked magnificent in the early morning fog & mist. However, the following week, through the heat & sun & sudden severe storms, the artwork lost its appeal and became nothing more than litter on the lawn...and on the neighbors' lawns! |
| Kamp Kemperman '05 Sunday: |
| Sunday's breakfast was prepared by none other than Chef Lloyd himself! (Apparenlty, Jr Chef Frank had "other obligtions.") Kampers started pulling up stakes early - some headed to other camps (like Jr Jr Chef Brandon), others headed to "moving day" (like Jay-bird). This year, Vice Prez Bob stepped up to the plate and handled the NASCAR pool with all of the class that his office afffords. However, by the end of the race, Kamp Kemperman was left holding the $43 cash pool without knowing WHO won! (The cash has since been assumed by the Kamp as a cash donation; no tax receipt will be provided...but THANKS!!!!) When it came to handing out the beads, Vice Prez Bob took his more familiar stance. I'm sure you all are aware of the tradition of the beads and how one earns said beads. Well, Vice Prez Bob proved that he is not a breast-man. After delivering only a few sets of beads in the traditional manner, Vice Prez Bob hung a car vanity mirror (currently in the Lost & Found...we're not sure from whose car it was lifted) from a nearby tree with instructions for ladies to "Self Serve." One item that was not in the Lost & Found was Bartender Mick's tip! A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to its recovery; however, since it was only $1, I'm sure the reward is not worth the effort. See ya next year! |
