After much hustling and bustling with trying to get a band together to work up a set of songs, Kampei came about in 2004 with an aim to play punk rock interspersed with all the other genres of music they enjoy, some of which include ska, jazz, reggae, funk, metal and honky-tonk. They played their first gig in February 2005 and have since played many, with bands such as (watch out for the name-dropping!!) Chixdiggit, The Disables, Yidcore, The Porkers, Bagster, Backy Skank, Stereo City and heaps more.
They released their debut EP "Back To The Day Job" in May 2005 and have plans for another release in 2006.
