| While You Were Away Part IIII | |||||||
| Everyone ate their breakfast chewing slowly. Normally the table would be buzzing with the sounds of chatter but today everyone ate in silence. The servants carried out all of the luggage and packed them neatly into the ship. The group walked into the entryway. �Oh we have some things for you both.� Linhe replied remembering the gifts they had made. She motioned for the children to give them their gifts. The grandfathers beamed and hugged each boy. Then Bulma handed them the plasters of the girls� hand/foot prints with their names written on the proper molding. �And these are some pictures that I collected before we left earth. I want you to have them.� Bulma said handing Vegeta a wooden box. �Well we have some things for you to remember us by too.� The king replied. He and Bardock handed each one of the boys (and Gohan) armor with the royal crest on the breastplate. The back of the breastplate was in scripted with each boys name and their respective grandfather�s name. The boys tried them on with excitement. The armor was way to big for them and everyone laughed as it looked like the boys were swimming its massiveness. �We had them made a little big, so you can wear them when you get older.� Bardock explained. �These are for the girls,� Vegeta said handing Bulma and Linhe a small black wooden box. Inside was a gold necklace with two little dangling hearts. Each had a letter inscribed on the back, V for Vegeta and B for Bardock. �Last but never least,� said Vegeta. They handed each of the women the same small box. They contained a gold ring with the same two little hearts dangling from the ring and the same letters inscribed on back, which matched the necklaces. The three women had tears in their eyes as they hugged the fathers. They turned to leave the palace for good. Gohan stayed back for he had a present that he didn�t want the others to see. Everyone hugged and kissed the fathers/grandfathers. Linhe hugged her father tightly not really wanting to leave. The gang started piling in the ship. Vegeta and Bardock went in to strap in their little granddaughters. �No more kitty cats, Bra,� the king said playfully. Bra nodded her head in agreement. They said good-bye and quickly departed the ship. Gohan saw them come out and he ran up to them. �This is for you guys, I thought it would be appropriate.� He shoved a black soft thing into the king�s hands. �I don�t usually like to harm animals, however, I thought this would be appropriate.� Upon closer inspection it was the skin of the Black Panther that attacked Bra. He had written a little poem on the back that told the story of the skin. The king and Bardock smiled at the gift and gave Gohan a hug and they all bowed at one another in respect. Gohan ran into the ship, and strapped himself in. The door closed and the ship slowly lifted off of the ground, when it was above the palace, it took off at the speed of light. <><><><><> The trip back home was without any problems, and they were preparing to land. The ship slowly descended and touched down softly. The door opened and the group slowly started disembarking the ship. The women chucked the bags out of the ship, and as the dust started to settle they saw three men slowing approaching. Zelena and Bra squealed in delight as they saw their fathers approaching. The group gasped. �But you weren�t supposed� Oh Kami help me,� Linhe moaned. The kids ran to their fathers and almost knocked them down. They started telling their adventures back on Vejita and how they saw their grandfathers who gave them armor and so on. Then the girls broke free of their mothers and ran to their fathers and leapt into their arms. Vegeta held Bra out to inspect her. He saw part of the scar that was on her neck and that disappeared into her shirt. He put his fingers to the wound and remembered seeing his little girl being attacked by the panther. �The scar will disa� � Before Bulma could finish Vegeta whipped his head up, and seeing the look on his face made Bulma take a couple steps backward. Satisfied with the effect of his look, he softened his face as he looked at his daughter once again. He swept her up and hugged her fiercely. �Father?� Toma was tugging on his fathers pant leg to get his attention. �Are you mad at mom? She and Aunt Bulma think that you and Vegeta are going to kill them.� His eyes furrowed at the thought of not seeing his mother anymore. Raditz bent down to get eye level with his son, and he put Zelena down. He hugged both Toma and Akira with such force the boys started gasping for air. Bulma and Linhe saw Goku hugging Chi-Chi, and they sighed with envy. Knowing their mates weren�t going to be so forgiving. �Well guys we are going home. It�s been a VERY hectic 2 months, and we are exhausted,� Goku said. As he carried Goten, who had his head down on his father�s shoulder, he put his arm around Gohan�s shoulder. Chi-Chi walked beside Goku, and slid her arm around his waist. Together they walked off heading home. �Boys, why don�t you take the girls inside?� Raditz said turning his attention back on his children. The boys hesitated not wanting to leave their moms alone. Sensing their apprehension he said reassuringly �It�s alright, just do as I asked.� The twins took Zelena�s hand and Trunk�s took Bra�s hand, then they reluctantly walked towards the house. When the children disappeared into the house Raditz and Vegeta turned their attention to their mates. They stood before Linhe and Bulma with their arms crossed and a frightening scowl on their faces. �Do you have any idea what you put us through?� Raditz growled. The women dropped their eyes to the ground afraid that making eye contact would make things worse. �Damn you woman.� Snarled Vegeta. His face turned a crimson red. Not being able to contain his anger any longer, Vegeta took to the sky. As he did, he shot a Ki blast at the ship turning it into a flaming mess of rubble. The women yelped in surprise and backed away from the heat. Bulma started shaking feverously. She knew he was not going to be happy, but she didn�t expect this. Linhe put her arm around Bulma trying to calm her friend. �Just get it over with Raditz. We know you�re angry with us. So please just get it over with.� She pleaded. �Oh, but your mistaken.� He said with a smirk. �I�m not angry with Bulma. She�s got Vegeta to deal with.� The kids came running out of the house to see what happened. They saw the ship, and then looked to see if their mothers were all right. Trunks got upset when he saw his mother shaking like a leaf and he went to her. He grabbed her hand and walked her back to the house. The twins stood there watching to make sure their father wasn�t going to hurt their mother, and Zelena started crying. Raditz glared at the boys for disobeying him, and they quickly retreated into the house. �Besides, I think you ought to suffer like we did.� He continued. �But don�t you know why I did it?� She said nervously. �I�m sorry and I know that it was a stupid�� He threw his hand up to silence her. �All the intelligence in the world, but no sense what so ever.� Leaving her alone, he flew back to the house. After a few minutes he emerged with Zelena in his arms, and the boys flying behind them as they headed towards their house. She slowly sank to her knees, hugging herself she wept uncontrollably. �Oh Raditz can�t you see that I did it because I needed you back.� She cried to herself. She stopped the crying, wiped the tears away, stood up, and dusted herself off. She decided to go check on Bulma. She walked in and it was eerily quiet. She searched to find the kids Ki, and sensed they were upstairs in Bra�s room. Then she searched out Bulma�s, she felt it downstairs. She went downstairs and slowly opened the door. Bulma was absent-mindedly rummaging through the remnants of their old laboratory. She looked up at Linhe, and saw that she had been crying same as Bulma. Bulma sighed and went back to rummaging. �I ruined it Linhe.� Bulma suddenly spoke. �He will never come to me again.� �I�m so sorry Bulma. I wish now that I never thought of going.� Linhe said as she gently kicked at some dusty beakers that were sitting on the floor. �Are you kidding me? I would do it all over again.� Bulma said smiling at her friend �I just wish Vegeta would forgive me.� A few minutes of silence Bulma spoke cautiously �So� what did Raditz say?� Linhe shrugged her shoulders and her face grew even sadder. If that was possible Bulma thought. �Well I just came to see if you�re alright. Now that I see that you�re as miserable as I am, I think I will be going.� �No please don�t leave. I really don�t want to be alone.� Linhe sat down by her friend and they hugged trying to draw comfort from each other. The door opened and they saw Trunks standing in the doorway. �Mom?� He said quietly. �Dad�s back home. Just thought you should know.� Trunks left the two women alone. �I�m leaving now Bulma. I will see you later okay?� Linhe did not want to see Vegeta for her little confrontation with Raditz wore her to the bone, she didn�t have enough strength to with stand another battle. She was surprised that Vegeta returned, especially when he had to have sensed her here. �Well where are you going to go?� Asked Bulma in a scared tone. �I�m going to go to the office and catch up on all that work that is more than likely piled a mile high.� She left Bulma alone. She went upstairs and silently thanked Kami for being able to avoid Vegeta. She ducked out the back door and flew to Capsule Corp. <><><><><> Bulma slowly made her way up to her bedroom. The room was dark but she saw Vegeta�s silhouette on the balcony and could tell that his back was to her. She turned to leave when she felt a breeze and suddenly a hand was firmly placed on her shoulder. She wanted to bolt out the door but her feet felt like lead. He turned her around to face him. He saw the fear beaming brightly in her eyes. �Good she needs to fear me,� he thought. �I had enough time to calm down by the time we were wished back. But when I saw that mark and remembered� � His voice trailed off. �I was helpless Bulma. I was stuck somewhere when my little girl was being attacked. Do you have any idea what that did to me?� She gulped, and suddenly the fear started to subside�a little. �Let�s just say it�s a feeling that I never want to experience again. And everyone who knows me better pray that I never do.� He never raised his voice, but spoke in a tone to really get his point across. �I�m truly sorry that I hurt you Vegeta, but I would do it again for that trip brought you back to me.� She whispered. He gave her his evil grin, which is the closest thing to a smile for him, and she leaned in to hug him. He put his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him. Outside the door Trunks was silently celebrating. <><><><><> Linhe was busy working on new experiments when she felt her mates Ki behind her. She didn�t turn around, but kept working like he wasn�t there. He silently watched her work, pouring some clear liquid in a cylinder and adding other chemicals. He never watched this before and watching her now fascinated him. How she moved fluidly around the lab stirring this or mixing that. After quite some time he decided it was time for her to come home. He went over to her swept her off of her feet and kissed her sweetly on the forehead. She buried her face in his neck and she inhaled his scent as he flew them home. THE END |
