While You Were Away Part II
		The three Saiyans in heaven let out a huge sigh of relief as the ship landed safely.  This was going to be interesting for Goku and Vegeta seeing their fathers alive for the first time. <><><><><> The craft slowly descended to the ground.  King Vegeta, Bardock, and a few of their servants stood around in excitement. They held their breath as they watched the door open.  Linhe flew out and lunged into her father�s arms.  He twirled her around hugging her for all he�s worth. She pulled away from him, and he just stared at her. �Look at you.  I can�t believe you�re finally here.  I�ve missed you so much.  You look so different besides you cutting your long beautiful hair shorter.�  The king said breathlessly. She turned to Bardock and hugged him as well. �I�ve got a surprise for you two.  I think you will enjoy this immensely.�  She said smiling brightly. They turned their attention back towards the ship as they saw a group of people making a lot of fuss leaving the ship.  The twins and Trunks were the first to exit, behind them was Bulma carrying Bra, Gohan carrying Zelena, and Chi-Chi comforting a crying Goten who got hurt when someone stepped on his foot accidentally.  They made their way to where Linhe was standing. She walked up behind the group and introduced each one as she put her hands on their heads to indicate the person she was introducing. �This is Bulma, Vegeta�s mate, and these are her children.�  She pointed at the purple haired children.  King Vegeta could not believe his ears.  He always thought Linhe would have children, but Vegeta.  He bent down to get a better look at Trunks who looked back up at the king and addressed him with respect. �Hello sir, I am Trunks, son of Vegeta and Bulma.�  He said proudly.  King Vegeta returned the respectable bow and he turned his attention to Bulma and the sleeping toddler.  He gently hugged her, and whispered �Welcome Bulma.  Forgive me for staring. I am in total disbelief.  I can�t believe my son has a mate and children.�  He just kept shaking his head.  The kindness in his eyes relaxed Bulma, for she was able to put her fears to rest.  �I am accepted,� she thought with relief. �Bardock-chan,� Linhe said wanting to get on with the introductions.  �This is Kakarrot�s mate Chi-Chi.  This is Gohan their oldest, and the none too happy little guy is their youngest Goten.� Bardock grinned a Goku grin, and everyone noticed where Goku got it.  He faced Gohan and Chi-Chi and gave them a bow, and they bowed back showing respect.  He looked at the squirming child in Gohan�s arms and asked, �Is this your child?� Gohan turned a bright red, and Linhe came over to take Zelena from him. �Father!  Bardock!�  She said with excitement.  �This is Toma, Akira, and Zelena.�  The Saiyan�s gasped at the name.  �They are my children and of course Raditz�.�  She beamed proudly. King Vegeta stared at his grandchildren, he patted the twins on the head and Akira rolled his eyes at the gesture. �Akira!� Linhe hissed. �It�s alright Linhe.  Intelligent children normally do not have the patience for such medial gestures.  After all, you were the same way.�  He laughed.  Akira nodded approving his grandfather�s good judgment call on the intelligence part.  Toma snorted at them. �Ah and I see that you prefer the warrior part of your heritage.�  The king addressed Toma. �He gets that from my son.�  Bardock beamed. �Speaking of the fathers.  Where are they, I know you guys didn�t venture without them.�  Frowned the king.  The entire group�s face went slack from the thought of their mates/fathers up in heaven. Bulma spoke for everyone.  �They were killed not to long ago defending the earth.�  She replied. �Ah, I see.�  The king said.  �Well let�s go inside we have much to talk about.�  He summoned the servants to retrieve the bags.  Gohan was about to go help, being very respectable, when Linhe grabbed his arm. �No Gohan, you�re on vacation now.  They have people to do that for them.�  She said kindly. �I guess it�s that responsible side of me to always lend a hand.  He looks so much like my father.�  He said pointing at Bardock.  �If it wasn�t for the scar on his face, I would swear it was him.  Not to mention how Vegeta and the King are identical.  This is too much.�  He sighed.  She put her hand on his shoulder and they walked inside. Everyone ooohed and ahh�d at the sight of the open spaced palace.  The boys were itching to go exploring.  �You have free roam of the palace.�  The king told the boys. �You see these red buttons on the walls?  Well they are everywhere.  If you should get lost just press one of the buttons and someone will come and get you.�  Obviously he didn�t realize that the boys could search out their moms Ki if need be. Before the boys took off, he said �One last thing, don�t go into the basement.�  The boys nodded in agreement and they took off whooping and hollering as they ran through the halls. Chi-Chi rolled her eyes and sighed. �Well let�s get you guys settled in.  Why don�t you go rest up before dinner?  I�m sure you�re exhausted from that trip.�  The king offered. �I wouldn�t do that if I was you,� Gohan said to the servant who was about to pick up Zelena. Linhe slapped the servant�s hands away before she could so much as lay a finger on her daughter. �Let it be known that NO ONE comes near Zelena and Bra, much less touches them.  If you do, you will be very sorry.�  Linhe shouted for all to hear.  She picked up the upset child and followed the servant to her quarters still fuming at the nerve of the servant. �Told you so.�  Gohan snickered. �What was that all about?�  The stunned Bardock asked. �Oh well, a few years ago one her employees went crazy at a company picnic.  He grabbed a hostage which turned out to be Chibi Akira and held a gun to his head.�  He saw the grandfather�s wince at the thought.  �Anyway, Linhe snapped.  She turned a power level that shook the ground we were standing on.  Before the guy could even cock the gun, Linhe disarmed him breaking a few of his bones in the process.  Akira was fine, but Linhe never allowed anyone near the twins till they were strong enough to defeat a human without any effort, and trust me they can hold their own now.  She�s the same way with Bra and Zelena.�  He rubbed at his arm remembering it was only a few days ago when they nearly burned his arm off. �Kami!�  The king replied.  �Well what happened to the guy who went crazy?� �Funny you should ask.  Vegeta grabbed the guy and flew off with him.  No one ever saw the guy again.�  He explained.  �Raditz was off fighting with my father or I�m sure he would have disintegrated that guy right in front of everyone.  Later it amazed us all that Vegeta took care of that guy.� The King and Bardock could only imagine why Vegeta would do something like that not to mention what he probably did to the guy. <><><><><> �That went well.�  Goku said snickering.  �Hey Vegeta what DID you do with that guy anyway?� Vegeta ignored the question deep in thought on how he tortured that man till he begged for death.  An evil smile spread across his face at the memory. <><><><><> During dinner the table buzzed with endless talk of who was doing what, and basically how their lives were going.  Chi-Chi talked endlessly to Bardock about Goku, and she had to explain who Goku was.  He listened attentively to all of her stories; he also snuck in a small thank you to Kami for his son not carrying through the mission of destroying earth. Bra and Zelena were in make shift highchairs nestled protectively between their mothers.  The servants gave the four a wide birth, and when one got too close Linhe gave off a throaty growl to which the servant quickly retreated. It was getting late, and everyone was talked into exhaustion.  They started to head off to their sleeping quarters when Linhe grabbed her father�s arm.  �Father I would like to talk to you alone.� She turned to Gohan, �Would you mind putting Zelena to bed and stay with her till I come up?� she said as she was holding the sleeping child in her arms. �Can I?�  Asked Bardock nervously remembering her ferociousness from earlier in the day.  �Sure you can silly.  I would be honored.�  She gently handed Zelena over to the child�s grandfather.  She watched them head up the stairs and saw him nuzzle Zelena affectionately.  She turned her attention back to her father and he led them to two huge leather chairs that were positioned in front of the lit fireplace.  Before sitting down she turned the chair so it would face her father.  She sat down putting her legs underneath her.  It brought back a memory of her doing the exact same thing when she was a little girl, and she would talk with her father till the early hours of the morning.  She smiled to herself at the thought. �Before you say anything, I just want to tell you how proud I am of you and Vegeta.  You both chose excellent mates, and not to mention giving me such wonderful grandchildren.�  He beamed with pride thinking about his big family.   �So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?  I know something is on your mind child.  Even though I haven�t seen you in a long time, I can still detect your moods.�  He said warmly. �Oh father.  I miss him horribly.�  She said covering her face trying to stop her self from breaking down.  �I would give anything to get him back.  Our Dragonballs were used before their deaths, and now we have to wait for an entire year before we can wish them back.  I just don�t think I can make it.�  He got up and went over to comfort his ailing daughter.  �My sweet, sweet princess.  You know that death is always a possibility for a Saiyan warrior.�  He looked into her tearing eyes and sorrow filled his heart at the sight. �I� I know, but it hurts so much.�  She sniffed.  Pleading to her father, �Isn�t there something I can do?� He looked at his daughter, and a warm smile spread across his face.  �I tell you what.  We have two more wishes left on our Dragonballs.  You can use them.�  Her face brightened and she looked up at her father through her misting eyes, she wiped away the tears and hugged him fiercely. �But may I suggest that you don�t do it till your ready to head back to earth?  For I fear that once they are brought back they will probably go on a hunt for their missing children and mates. They are probably looking down right now in a none to happy mood knowing what you guys did.�  He chuckled as he thought about his son being the worst one on the warpath. They hugged and walked arm and arm up to their rooms. <><><><><> �SON-OF-A-BITCH�, shouted a pissed Vegeta.  �That bastard has the power to bring us back and he�s going to make them WAIT?� He started pacing at an alarmingly fast rate.  Raditz shook his head in sympathy. �Well the King just lost any points he may have had with Vegeta.�  He said sympathetically, and somewhat pissed too for he was aching to get back home. <><><><><> She opened the door and saw Bardock rocking the sleeping child in his arms.  He looked up at the princess and smiled. �I remember doing this to you when you were little.  I could do this all night.�  He whispered.  Linhe smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek before picking up her daughter. �No please let me put her down. I haven�t forgotten how you know.�  He gently put his sleeping granddaughter in her bed, hugged Linhe and quietly left the room.  After Bardock left, Linhe walked over to the window and opened it.  �Not soon enough Raditz, but soon.�  She whispered into the warm breeze. <><><><><> �Not soon enough.�  He mocked.  �Well if it�s not soon enough than use the damned Dragonballs.� �You know Vegeta, I like you better when you�re, alive for you keep that mouth of yours shut most of the time.�  Retorted Raditz. �Uh-oh.�  Goku let out.  �I feel a fight coming on.  Woo-hoo, I�m placing my money on Raditz.� Sure enough the two began to spar, taking out their aggressions on one another. <><><><><> The next day everyone met at the table to eat breakfast.  Afterwards they went outside to spend the day in the glorious sunshine. Bulma and Chi-Chi sat on the ground beside the king as he allowed Bra and Zelena to use him as a jungle gym.  Up in the sky, Linhe and Gohan were sparring as well as Bardock who was trying to hold his own against his grandsons and Trunks. Seeing how worn down Bardock was becoming they decided to go do something else.  �Come on Gohan, were going to play hunter and prey in the castle,� urged Goten, grabbing his brothers hand leading him towards the palace with the other 3 boys.  Linhe losing her sparring buddy flew over to the panting Bardock. �Oh you can�t be serious Bardock.  Don�t tell me those boys wore you out.  I�m still itching to fight.�  She playfully growled at him. �Well you have two full blooded and half blooded Saiyan attack you and see how you hold up.�  He panted. They slowly descended back to earth. �Now these two little ones I can handle a lot better.�  He bent down and picked up Zelena tossing her into the air making her giggle. �Me next, me next� cried Bra.  He did the same to her. <><><><><> �Okay Gohan, go in that room and count to 50.�  Toma instructed �And no cheating.� Obediently Gohan went into the room and started counting.  The boys ran out going towards their hiding places. �Alright guys, as we planned.�  Said Akira, planning on turning the hunter into the prey.  Gohan searched the west wing of the castle first.  As he headed towards the east, he caught movement out of the corner of his eyes and he smirked.  So they are hunting me are they,' he thought to himself.  He flew around the corner where he saw the person disappear.  �Gotcha!�  He yelled, throwing a Ki blast at the prey�s head. �AAAAAHHHHHHH!�  Screamed the servant.  She fainted from fear. �Oh Kami, I screwed up big time.�  He bent down to help the servant that he almost killed.  He heard laughing further down the hall. �It�s not funny you guys.  Games over, I nearly hurt someone.�  The servant came too. Shaking uncontrollably she slowly got up on her feet with the assistance of Gohan. �I�m so sorry miss.  I thought you were one of the boys.  Are you alright?�  Concerned he eyed her to make sure she wasn�t hurt.  She shook her head and continued on her mission in a hurry to get away from Gohan. Angry with himself, he went on the hunt for the boys.  As he found one, he would drag him along to find the others.  Soon all four boys together and accounted for. �Gohan, we found something neat and we want you to come with us.�  Goten said mischievously. �Nice try but no thanks.  You probably have rigged some kind of trap or something.  I�m not falling for that one little brother.� �Suit yourself.  Come Goten let�s go, unless you�re scared� mocked Trunks. The four boys left Gohan by himself.  �I know this is some sort of trick, but somehow I think they are up to no good.�  So he followed them cautiously. The boys stopped before a big red door.  Sneaking up on the boys but staying out of sight, Gohan heard them daring each other to open it.  Agitated, Toma went to open the door.  The boys gasped, as the heavy door was pulled open.  They peered into the darkness, and Toma lit a Ki ball on the tip of his finger and stuck it in the darkness on the other side of the door. �Those stairs seem to go on forever.�  Said Trunks.  �This must be the basement.�  They all nodded in agreement. �Come on let�s go see what�s down there.�  Trunks said, and he saw the look of worry on the other boy�s faces.  �Don�t be such babies.  Do you honestly think the King would have something dangerous in his basement?� �What are you doing� Gohan said jumping out from his hiding place.  The boys yelped in surprise.  �I know you�re not going down there after you have been told not too.� �Oh come on Gohan, how bad could it be?�  Toma pleaded. �Absolutely not!�  Gohan demanded. Trunks narrowed his eyes.  �Fine.�  He retorted, �Come on guys, let�s go.� And he turned around on heels walking away from the open door. Gohan new this kid was determined to go down there.  It wasn�t over by a long shot.  He sighed. <><><><><> �Great, now what!  What�s down in the basement Vegeta.�  Raditz snarled. �How in Hell am I supposed to know?� He growled back. The three of them looked on in helplessness and aggravation. <><><><><> The boys wolfed their lunch down and asked if they could be excused.  Gohan raised an eyebrow knowing very well what they were up to. As they headed towards the door, Trunks spoke with authority.  �Alright girls, as soon as we get there I will open that door and head down those stairs.  You know Gohan is hot on our trails, so you won�t have time to debate this.  I�m going with or without you.� The others nodded knowing what he spoke was true.  Toma and Akira decided they would go, Goten was struggling with the issue.  They reached the door and Trunks threw it open taking off into the darkness without hesitation.  He lit a Ki ball so he could see in front of him; he smiled as he sensed his friends were all behind him. Gohan was too late, he saw the light disappear around the turning staircase and he knew that he was going to have to go after them.  He lit his own finger with a Ki ball and chased after the boys. �Man these stairs are going on forever.  Let�s fly to get there faster.�  Akira called up ahead to the leader.  Their feet left the stairs and they flew the rest of the way. <><><><><> �I wonder why the boys were so eager to leave.�  Said Chi-Chi with one eyebrow raised. �Heh.  I wander too.�  The king replied knowing exactly what those boys were up to. <><><><><> They reached the bottom and landed on soft dirt.  They sniffed the air, which to them it smelled like they were deep within a damp forest.  Raising their Ki level till they started to glow, they were able to see their surroundings better.    There were, what appeared to be, trunks of trees sparsely placed and it seemed that they were uniformly lined up.  Off in the distance it sounded like water flowing.  They followed one tree trunk all the way up thinking they were going to see stars, but the trunks just disappeared into blackness.  Akira looked back to make sure the steps were still behind them, and of course they were.  Gohan reached the bottom and grabbed the boys by the back of their necks.  Then he too saw their surroundings.  His mouth dropped open and his eyes widened in shock. �It�s like we stepped into another universe or something,� Goten spoke with a waiver in his voice.  �This doesn�t feel right you guys.� There was a low growl up ahead of them, and their bodies went rigid. �Wha� what was that� Trunks whispered. �Come on guys we are leaving.  NOW!�  Gohan ordered.  The boys nodded their heads in agreement.  They turned around to ascend the stairs, but the stairs were gone. �What the!� exclaimed Akira.  �They were here just a second ago.  Alright this is really starting to freak me out.� The growl got louder and it sounded as if it was getting closer. �Okay guys, it�s obvious we�re in trouble.  We need to hang on to each other, for it seems things disappear around here.�  Gohan said taking charge. �Excellent observation cousin, did they teach you that in high school?�  Akira smarted.  He was scared and he was taking it out on Gohan. �Oh for crying out load we are Saiyans.  Start acting like it you bunch of girls.  You�re forgetting that we are only in a basement, so let�s start walking to try and find a wall.  It can�t be but so big.�  Toma scolded.  �And what is that thing that keeps growling?� Before anyone could say anything a huge furry creature lunged at them.  It landed on Goten sending him sprawling on his back.   Goten held the thing by the neck as the creature�s teeth snapped at his face.  Gohan shot a small Ki blast trying to get it off of his brother.  It didn�t seem to phase it.  Some of its fur was smoldering, but that was it. �Oh Kami get this nasty thing off of me.�  Yelled Goten. Gohan kicked it off, and the creature went sailing into the darkness he then shot a much stronger Ki blast and the thing blew up.  He bent down to help Goten to his feet. �Are you alright?�  Gohan asked in concern. �Yeah I guess so.  What was that thing?  It looked like a human sized rat.�  Goten said shakily. �I have no idea, but now we know that we may not be alone.  Well let�s start walking.  We will go left and just walk until we hit a wall.� The five of them walked side-by-side and holding hands, just incase.  They heard another low growl, and came to a stand still. �Alright guys you know how to defeat these things, the first one to see it hit it with a Ki blast.�  They continued to walk.  They encountered a rat creature one after the other. Then they saw one that stood much taller than Gohan. �My Kami!  Look at the size of that thing.  I think it�s going to take more than a Ki blast to take that thing out.�  Trunks said as he powered up.  The others followed suit.  They started hitting the creature with some powerful blasts but it didn�t faze the creature, as a matter of fact it seemed to just make it madder. Gohan went to SSJ and lunged at the creature, the creature swatted at Gohan like he was a fly.  The creature made contact and Gohan went sailing.  The boys started hitting it with every fiber of power they had.  It started to wear on the creature, and Gohan hit it with the strongest Ki blast.  The rat just disintegrated right in front of them. All of a sudden there was a bright flash, and the kids threw their hands up to their eyes protecting them from the harsh light.  They slowly opened their eyes and they looked around.  The King was standing right behind them tapping his foot with a scowl on his face. �I thought I told you boys not to come down here?�  He said. �But�. What� I don�t� argh,� Trunks was unable to complete a sentence for all that they had been through. �Grandfather, the stairs disappeared and we couldn�t get out.  Then there were these huge rat like things attacking us, and the tree trunks...� Upon closer inspection Gohan saw that they were support posts.  �The stairwell never disappeared, you probably moved from your spot without knowing and since you didn�t have the light on the darkness probably disoriented you.  As for the `rat like things�, yes we have or should I say had an infestation.  That�s why I didn�t want you boys coming down here.�  He explained.  �By the way Thanks for taking care of the problem.�  He turned and ascended the stairs. �I don�t believe this.�  Gohan said shaking his head.  They followed the king up the stairs. <><><><><> �Oh Kami that was the most amusement I have had in long while,� Goku said trying to catch his breath from laughing so hard. The other two were rolling on the ground clutching their stomachs roaring with laughter.
