| Sakoo couldn't explain where Zhen acquired his abilities. His first thought was that Zhen was probably a Saiyan. He learned from his master that all Saiyans were born with a tail, so he looked for one on the child, finding none. Whether Zhen was from another alien race, Sakoo couldn't know for sure. All he knew was that here was a boy who needed care, even though this wasn't an ordinary boy. A few years after Zhen was adopted, when he was about 7 years old, Sakoo was out in the field with Zhen teaching him how to develop his blast techniques. "Zhen," Sakoo started. "I want you to listen carefully. In all living beings, there exists inside a Ki, or energy level. Most of us do not know how to use it, but those who train in the martial arts learn how to develop it and use it well." "Now," he continued, "You are a special case. You, for some reason unknown to me, were born with a powerful Ki. It was probably fate that brought you to me, but this is why I train you. To help you control and use your Ki for good. Do you understand?" Zhen nodded. "Good. I have already basics taught the basics of fighting. But now the time has come for you to use you energy as a weapon. First, learn how to feel this Ki. Close your eyes. Relax. Feel the wave of energy flowing through your body. Do you feel it, Zhen? Zhen, still with his eyes close, breathed slowly and tried to feel this energy. He tried concentrating harder and finally felt a sort of static feeling all over his body. "Yes, I feel it," he responded. "Good. Now try moving all that energy, try focusing it to one part of your body, until it feels like that part is full, while the others are hollow." The young boy did this, trying first to move it to his left leg, and indeed, he felt his left leg heavier than the rest of his body. He tried the same thing with all parts of his body, getting the same results. "Yes, yes!" he said, more excitedly, "I feel this too!" "Very good, my son," Sakoo replied. "Now focus the energy into both your hands and concentrate on forcing it out as hard as you can." Zhen focused his energy into his hands like his master said and suddenly, opening his eyes, the boy shoots the blue lightning beam towards a large rock, shattering it, completely into dust. "Wow!" the boy exclaimed. "I just did THAT! I must be the strongest fighter in the world!" Sakoo smiled at the boy, satisfied at much of a quick learner Zhen was. "That was impressive, son, but you are still far from being a true warrior. Believe me, there are still more powerful fighters than you." Zhen couldn't imagine fighters being that strong. But he was a child back then, so he didn't worry much about it. Not till later. |
