| The Return of Raditz Part II |
| Needs� All around me I see what weakness has made Too much tomorrow I think I�ll take all today Am I a poison, Am I thorn in the side Am I a picture perfect subject tonight I don�t need nobody I don�t need the weight of words (to find a way) To crash on thru -Collective Soul 12 hours passed since the battle between brother and sister occurred. Vegeta was starting to rouse. Bulma had been there the entire time, monitoring both Saiyans. She drained Vegeta�s tank and started to help him out. He brushed her arm aside, getting out himself. She handed him a blanket, and he rudely grabbed it from her. He turned to see the other tank, and recognized the Saiyan within. �What happened to her?� he said snidely, not realizing it was from his attack. �Well smarty, you should know, it was from you two fighting.� Bulma retorted. �Humph. Little girl can�t handle the great Saiyan!� That�s not how he really felt though. He was proud that she could hold her own. �She may not be able to beat me, but damn does she put up a good fight.� Proud? Did he actually think that? Bulma�s annoying chatter interrupted his train of thought. �For Kami�s sake Veggie breath, get over yourself.� She turned her attention to Linhe�s monitors, ensuring things were going well. He quietly slid up to Bulma; gently pulling her hair away from her ear he put his mouth just inches from the side of her head. �Be careful Bulma. Be very careful!� he whispered in a breathy growl. She stood rigid not knowing what he was going to do, but fully aware of what he is capable of. The power ran through the strands of her hair that he held all the way to her head, which sent shivers down her spine. He released her hair and walked out. He closed the door and leaned against it closing his eyes, to steady himself from the rush that he felt when touching HER hair. `I�ve been here entirely too damn long,� he thought and started walking back to the house. Goku and Gohan, who were busy stuffing their faces with food prepared by Mrs. Briefs, instantly greeted him. �Well hey Vegeta. Glad to see you�re up and about�. Goku said spraying half eaten food in the direction of Vegeta. Vegeta squinched his face up in disgust. �Ugh. What are YOU and your brat doing here?� he shoved past them going to the kitchen to get his own food. Mrs. Briefs handed him a plate piled high with food, he tipped his head up and quickly left. �Wait, Vegeta� Goku shouted, �How�s Linhe doing?� Vegeta stopped at the foot of the stairs, half turned his head and replied, �I�m not a doctor Kakarrot, go see for your own damn self�. With that said, he flew up the stairs before Goku could say another word that would make him lose his appetite. Goku told Gohan that he was going to go out to the regen room to see how things were going. When he entered he saw Bulma standing there with some of her hair in her hands shaking like a leaf. �Bulma, are you alright? Did he do something to you?� he asked worriedly. His friend did not look good. Coming out of her trance, �Um yeah, I'm fine. No he didn�t do anything to me�. �Not physically,� she thought. �Just mentally,� Even though his threat was real, she saw past that and found Vegeta had touched a part of her that has long been closed off from all of the mental abuse from Yamcha. �You look odd Bulma. You better sit down�. He guided her over to a chair. �Now tell me what happened.� She looked at her long time friend, who had a look of worry on his face. There was no way she could tell him what happened; she didn�t really know herself. A buzzer on the regen tank suddenly went off jolting her out of a trance. Both she and Goku ran over to the tank to see what was going on. She silenced the buzzer, and read the monitor. �Excellent, her blood pressure is rising. She�s going to be ok Goku. I estimate her to be out tomorrow. You and Gohan might as well go home. I�ll call you when there is a change.� �Sounds good. Oh hold on a second�. He put his fingers to his forehead, and in an instant he was gone. Bulma and Gohan looked at each other in amazement. He reappeared with Linhe�s black bag. �I thought she may need whatever is in here, when she recovers. Come on son, Chi-Chi is pacing around the house as we stand here.� He handed the bag to Bulma and they both took off into the sky. Bulma felt bad but decided to see if the Saiyan princess had any other undergarments besides the ones that were on her. She opened the bag and saw the photo that Vegeta looked at yesterday. She could not believe how much Vegeta looked like his father, and how Goku looked like Bardock. The resemblance was uncanny. She put the picture aside and searched further. She pulled out a black tank top, black bra, black underpants, and a black top and bottom, which was a spare uniform. �I suppose the princess likes the color black,� she giggled to herself. She saw what looked to be candy bars or those power bars. There were about 5 of those and she couldn�t decipher the weird printing on the wrappers, which she deduced must explain the products contents. All that was left was something hard and shiny, and a smaller black bag. She pulled out the shiny hard thing which was a silver hairbrush, and on the back was inscribed �Zelena�. �That must�ve been her mother�s name.� She unzipped the smaller bag, and saw that it was just some feminine products and a toothbrush. �Well we now know the princess is at least a clean Saiyan.� She zipped the bag back up and placed it in the bottom of the larger bag. She picked up the brush and started to put it back in the bag when someone came up behind her. She about fell out of her seat startled and dropped the brush to the floor. �What are you doing woman?� Vegeta demanded. �I was just seeing if she had something else to change into when she got out of the tank. AND DON�T SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT!� She yelled back. He looked at the brush lying on the floor, bent down and picked it up. He ran his hand over the back of the brush; more specifically over his mother�s name. He knew who Zelena was. He only vaguely remembered her though. He handed the brush back to Bulma, and walked over to the regen tank. He stood there with his arms crossed studying her face. She must look exactly like her mother, because he couldn�t see any of his father � or himself � in her features. Then he noticed her tail gently swaying with the motion of the tanks liquid. `Oh how I miss my tail. Well if I can�t have mine, hers will be severed as well.� He thought in all fairness. He turned back around seeing Bulma watching him. This made him feel � weird. �Too many damned emotions� he angrily thought. �This won�t do.� She said, as she turned her attention back to the princess�s things. �I will just have to take it upon myself and order that poor thing some clothes.� �Damn woman. Can you be any nosier? How do you know she wants you rummaging through her things?� Vegeta blurted, as he walked out of the room and headed straight for the gravity room. <><><><><> Throughout the night Dr. Briefs and Bulma took turns getting rest, and watching over the princess. After training in the gravity room, Vegeta�s balcony overlooked the little building that held the regen tanks, and he too kept a watchful eye. Next morning they thought it would be best to pull her out of the tank, and let her finish recuperating in bed. Bulma went to go get Vegeta to help lift the princess out. She knocked on the gravity room�s door. She could have just walked in, seeing how it was her gravity room in the first place. However, she new that Vegeta had it on, and one foot in the door would kill her instantly. She waited till she heard him power down the machine, then she opened the door. �You know, interrupting me is permission for me to blast you to hell. So I advise you to speak quickly, and leave me be.� He growled. She looked at him, her mouth went slack and she inhaled a large breath of air as she saw his glistening body. All he wore was a pair of blue tight fitting shorts, socks and sneakers that she had bought for him. No shirt! Sweat was just beading up on the rippling chest muscles. Oh what she would give to go over there and rub him down � literally! Her face turned red when she looked up into his eyes. �You know Vegeta, I�ve had about enough of your shit.� She snapped back to reality, but without much conviction �Since we feed and house your sorry ass, you can grace us with your strength. We need you to help get Linhe out of the tank, AND NOW Dammit�. She spun around and left. Vegeta smirked, taking note, `So, Bulma can�t handle seeing me without a shirt on. I just may have to walk around half dressed more often. Silly humans.� A few seconds later he walked into the regen room. Bulma avoided looking at him. He noticed this avoidance and did his best at making sure he was in her line of sight. �All right Mr. Almighty, GENTLY pull her out of the tank and let me wrap this blanket around her. Then follow me to her quarters.� Both Vegeta and Dr. Briefs winced at her high-pitched squealing of the word gently. Holding his sister as tenderly as if he was holding a newborn, Vegeta glided through the air following Bulma. He GENTLY laid her down in the already prepared bed. As he turned around to leave he met Bulma face to face. She could feel his warm breath on her face. Oh how she wanted to reach up and touch his masculine chest. Watching him being ever so gentle with his sister aroused Bulma in such a ferocious way. `I will have you some day soon Prince of all Saiyans. Oh yes I am going to do things to you that you never dreamed of,� she thought. �Get out of my way woman.� he quietly hissed. She moved to one side to let him pass, and as he went by she mumbled �Asshole!� Bulma took it upon herself to move the princess over to her house for the duration of her visit. She was excited to have another female around the house that she could chat with. She decided to call Goku to have him send over the rest of Linhe�s things. �Mushi Mushi� answered Chi-Chi. �Hi Chi-Chi. I was thinking that perhaps Linhe could stay over here for a while. So I thought maybe you could send over any remaining stuff of hers with Kakarrot�. �That sounds fine. She left only a few things, so I will ensure he brings them when he comes over to visit. She really is a nice girl, I just hope Vegeta doesn�t beat her down with his viciousness. Let her know that if it gets to be too much she is always welcome back here.� �Will do Chi-Chi, and hey, we really need to get together. How does tomorrow sound?� They both agreed tomorrow would be good and they hung up. She was looking out the window watching Vegeta disappear into the gravity room with a plate of food. �Well that takes care of him for the rest of the day,� she happily thought. <><><><><> Upstairs, Linhe started stirring. She opened her eyes and squinted at the bright light that shone through the open windows. �Where am I,� she thought. She sat up and looked around at her surroundings. She started remembering what happened. The battle with Vegeta, her and Kakarrot flying Vegeta to Bulma�s, and then she went blank. Happy that she remembered something, she stretched her arms and thought how wonderful she felt. The doorbell rang downstairs, and she heard a familiar voice. She suddenly remembered �Vegeta, Kami I hope he�s all right.� She pulled on a pair of faded jean shorts, and a tee shirt that was folded on a chair next to her bed. �Where are my clothes?� she thought. She saw her familiar bag sitting on top of the dresser. As she approached she heard a light knock at the door. She opened it to find a surprised Bulma and Goku on the other side. �My, I didn�t expect to see you out of bed. How are you feeling?� Bulma asked. Goku handed her the things that she had left at his house. �I�m famished, actually. By the way, where am I? And how is Vegeta?� She set her armor, boots, and gloves on the dresser next to her bag. �You�re at Capsule Corp. My home. You�ve been out for a couple of days. I hope you don�t mind that I sent for your things. I see those shorts fit you perfectly and that shirt fits you better then it ever did me.� She sighed wishing her chest could be that big. �Vegeta is fine, all ready recouped and back to training. Why don�t you follow me, and I will whip you up something to eat.� �FOOD!� Goku shouted. He flew down the stairs, and sat at the table waiting for the girls to get down there. They chuckled at Goku�s excitement, and followed right behind him. Kakarrot! She needed to speak to him. �Kakarrot. I have been trying to tell you something, and we are always interrupted. Is there somewhere we can go. I prefer to tell you this in private�. �You can use my father�s office, which is around the corner. If the door is shut just knock.� �Can�t this wait till I�ve eaten?� He asked with a child�s grin. She grabbed his hand and led him to the office, which was unoccupied and she shut the door behind them. �Finally; here goes nothing. Kakarrot� yourbrotherRaditzisaliveandwillbearrivingheresoon.� There she did it in one long quick breath. �Before you get excited, know this�..He has been reformed. Which means he is no longer the evil man that you knew him as.� She stopped, deciding to let him swallow this for a while. The look on his face told her that he needed a few minutes to process this information. At last he spoke, �Wow! First Vegeta has a sister, then our fathers are alive, and now my brother is coming back. But how? Piccolo killed him. Kami, Chi-Chi is gonna throw a fit�. This made her grin. �My father and your father � wished him back by the Dragonballs, along with some other Saiyans whom also have been reformed.� She explained. �Well I guess I better get home and prepare Chi-Chi, Gohan, and Piccolo. � with that he took off. <><><><><> �Where did Goku go? I made him all of this food.� The puzzled Bulma asked. �Well I told him of the news that his brother was coming, and he thought it a good idea to go home and tell his family and Piccolo.� �RADITZ IS ALIVE� Bulma yelled, piercing Linhe�s sensitive ears. �Oh sorry! Raditz is alive?� Linhe nodded her head. �But he has been reformed. He will be coming in peace, at least he better � or he will have to deal with me�. In the gravity room, with his keen hearing, Vegeta heard Bulma. �Kami, Raditz is coming?� He left the room in a flurry to further investigate. Slamming open the doors, again with no shirt Bulma noticed, Vegeta stormed into the kitchen where the two women were standing. �What�s this you screeched woman? Did you say that Raditz is coming?� Linhe looked at Bulma who was starring at Vegeta�s heaving chest. She realized that this human has a thing for her brother. She searched Vegeta�s face to see if the feeling was mutual, but all she could see was confusion. �Hmm, think I will pay a little more attention to these two,� she thought. �Yes he is. But he has been reformed� Linhe explained what she had told Goku. <><><><><> Back at the Son�s house, Chi-Chi was screaming; �What do you mean he is alive and is on his way here no less. I will kill him with my bare hands. It�s bad enough that I let Vegeta live, but now this monster is back?� Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo covered their ears as she shouted. �Chi-Chi�let me meet him and see if what the Princess says is true. If she is wrong, I will destroy him instantly.� Goku offered. <><><><><> It was dark out now, and Raditz had not shown yet. Goku and family sat down to eat dinner, no one talking. Both he and Gohan looked up from their plates. �What is it Goku?� asked Chi-Chi. �It�s an unfamiliar Ki. It must be him. I want you both to stay here. No arguments either.� He got up from the table, and went out the front door. He saw Piccolo, and asked him to stay with his family incase Raditz was here for evil reasons and should somehow get past him. Piccolo nodded, floated up to the roof of the house, crossed his legs and waited. Goku took off to meet Raditz, to try and put some distance between him and the house. Just incase. They came face to face. �Hello Brother.� Said Raditz. He offered his hand to shake, but Goku just regarded him with suspicion. �I see that you have been told of my arrival. Let me assure you that I come in peace. Honestly!� he sounded sincere, Goku thought. <><><><><> At Capsule Corp. Linhe and Vegeta stood on top of the house starring off in the direction that Raditz went�just incase. They both agreed should they feel either one of them power up, they would fly off to offer any assistance to Goku. She would have to ask him why he�s willing to help Goku. But later, right now they need to keep a watch. <><><><><> �Why are you here Raditz?� Goku said in a flat tone. �Two reasons� before he continued he slowly descended to earth and offered for Goku to do the same. �I�ve come to offer my deepest apologies for the past, and beg for forgiveness. I am no longer the man that you knew.� That too sounded sincere to Goku. �And the other reason?� �I'm searching for the Princess. Judging by the fact that you were warned of my coming, I know she is here.� He said. �What do you want with her? I�m warning you Raditz, your apologies sound sincere, but I�m not fully convinced and you will have to prove yourself, you know?� �I understand. If there is a way to prove my motives are sincere, then I would gladly do it. As for the Princess, I need to see that she is all right. It�s been a long time since we have seen or heard from her, so I decided with the Kings blessing to make sure she is doing well.� He explained. �I do have a note from the King, also stating what I say is true. The princess will be able to verify its authenticity.� After reading the note, Goku�s face lightened and he gave his brother a big old bear hug, squeezing the breath out of him. �I guess this means you believe me?� he said gasping for air. �I suppose I do. But if I were you, I wouldn�t expect that warm of a greeting from anyone else. As a matter of fact be prepared for just the opposite.� Goku grinned. The two brothers sat down, and talked for hours. Raditz was telling him about all that has changed, and how their father longed to see Goku and his grandson. Goku mainly listened. When Raditz was finished, Goku told him about all that has happened since Linhe�s arrival. �So how long do you plan on staying? I mean if your going to stay for a while, 3 years to be exact, then we could sure use more help fighting those androids.� Goku said after telling him about the kid from the future (not revealing his identity), telling everyone about the androids. �Well I was hoping this was not going to be a long stay, and that perhaps I could convince the princess that it�s time to go home.� Raditz sighed. �Knowing her, she probably wants to stay awhile. So as long as I�m here, I�d be happy to help you guys.� Goku�s eyes brightened, and he went on to talk about Vegeta and Linhe�s sparring match. �Vegeta is alive?� asked Raditz. �And Linhe fought him? Wow, is he okay?� Goku looked at him with a puzzled face. Looking at Goku, Raditz could tell that he did not know how powerful Linhe really was. He grinned, and thought �that woman was always modest.� �It took her longer to recuperate than it did Vegeta. As a matter of fact, she needed a transfusion or she would have died.� In a swift and almost unseen motion, he jumped to his feet. �Kakarrot I need to see her immediately, Please tell me where she is.� He said in the harshest of voices. �Calm down Raditz, she�s fine. Vegeta hit her by surprise during a FRIENDLY fight.� Goku said, trying to calm his brother. �I swear to Kami, if ANYONE hurts her again I will be that person�s biggest nightmare.� Raditz vowed to the world. He felt Goku�s hand on his shoulder. �Let�s go Raditz. I�m sure Chi-Chi, Gohan, and Piccolo are going out of their minds wondering what�s happening.� He led his brother towards his home. <><><><><> SMACK! Chi-Chi slapped Raditz across the face as hard as she possibly could. It didn�t do a thing, but all the same he turned his head with the smack to satisfy her anger. �That�s for kidnapping my son,� she smacked him again �And that�s for being the reason that my husband was killed.� �Boy did that feel good!� she thought. �It appears that Goku has forgiven you. I�m sorry but I�m not ready to. When you tried to destroy my family, you put me through Hell. Therefore, I will not welcome you into my home.� She turned around went in the house slamming the door behind her. Goku sheepishly grinned at his brother, �Give her time Raditz she will come around. Heh, she eventually got over Vegeta being alive�. �Please Kakarrot. It�s alright. She is a strong woman. She must be more then you can handle.� He said chuckling. He looked down and saw Gohan. Bending down to meet him face to face he said �Would you like to hit me as well?� �Uh, no�no thanks. Raditz?� He asked warily. �I�m glad you�re not evil anymore. I just hope it�s not a trick of some sort.�. Raditz bowed his head to Gohan, and with that Gohan went inside to be with his mother. �Well Kakarrot, I�m glad that is over with.� He said in a soft voice. �So what are you going to do now?� Goku asked, knowing that he could not invite Raditz in or Chi-Chi would have his head. �First I�m going to go hunting. I�m starving to death. Then I will find a place to rest. Don�t worry about me. Then tomorrow I�m hoping that you will take me to the Princess.� �Alright meet me over in that clearing,� he said pointing �first thing, and I will take you to her.� Raditz agreed and flew off into the night. <><><><><> �What�s the matter Vegeta? You look disappointed�. She said with a smirk. �Shut-up woman. Did that Baka woman Bulma teach you how to irritate me?� he replied grumpily. �You know Vegeta, the Briefs are very kind to offer there house to you, and you are still so nasty to them. I don�t understand your reasoning. Not to mention the fact that you are the hardest on Bulma who goes out of her way to ensure your fed, clothed, and that gravity room is running properly for you, and all you do is fight with her. If I was her I would kick you out.� She said knowing full well that this will send him through the roof. Before he could say anything she continued to poke a little farther. �If I didn�t now better, I would say that maybe you have a thing for her.� He turned his face to her, and she could see the hatred seething from his eyes. Venomously he replied, �Watch your tongue woman. I have been known to kill for less.� �So it�s true, you do have something for her. Look I�m not trying to tease you; I just think�� before she could finish he had lunged at her. Slamming her down on the rooftop, he pinned by her throat. �Fuck you Linhe.� He hissed. <><><><><> In the woods, Raditz looked up from feeding on his kill as he felt someone power up. Slowly standing up, he waited� <><><><><> That did it. She kicked his legs from underneath him and jumped at Vegeta, grabbing him by his collar and flying up into the air, quickly diving back down to earth. At the last moment before impact she slammed him down hard shaking the foundation of the house. She leapt on top of the stunned Saiyan and held the tips of her fingers to his throat applying pressure. <><><><><> Raditz felt her Ki, and he took off in their direction. <><><><><> �Lesson two. If you attack out of anger, you better have the intention of killing that person.� She warned. She leapt off of him, and extended her hand to help him up. He got up on his own accord, and smiled an evil grin at her. Bulma came running out of the house to see what was going on, she gasped when she saw Raditz land behind Vegeta. �Stand down Raditz!� Linhe ordered. He bent down on one knee, and bowed his head. �Your Highness, I thought you were in trouble and came to see if I could be of any assistance�. He stood up and eyed Linhe up and down, feeling the blood rush to his head making his face flush. �Kami what are those garments she is wearing?� He felt aroused and quickly looked away. But the overly observant Bulma caught this, and smiled to herself. Vegeta turned around to see the respect shown by the Saiyan, and he scoffed. �So you have a faithful following sister-chan�. He said stifling a laugh. �Prince Vegeta, I ask that you take caution with the Princess, for I choose her allegiance over yours.� Raditz said properly. This sent Bulma into a roaring fit of laughter. Ignoring Raditz and Bulma, Vegeta turned his attention back to his sister. �What was lesson one, anyway�. �The other day, when we were battling I proved to you that a Saiyan can fight under any circumstance. That was lesson one!� With a smirk on his face, he quickly left leaving Bulma and Raditz pondering over what had just transpired. Bulma saw him fly up to his balcony, and she sighed. �So you must be Raditz� returning her attention to the two Saiyans. �You don�t look like I remember...� She said quizzically. �I�m a new man, and I thought maybe I needed a new image too�. He smiled at her. His hair had been cut shorter. Although still long, it now came to the middle of his back. The uniform and armor that he wore was identical to Linhe�s. He lifted her hand and gave it a kiss. She smiled wanly at him. She could see that the two Saiyans wanted to be alone, and she took this as her cue to leave. Heading up the stairs at the top she passed by Vegeta�s room; she knew he was in there. She placed her hand on the door, and whispered �Soon my Prince, very soon�. She continued on to her room. <><><><><> �So you finally caught up with me. Dammit Raditz, I don�t need a body guard.� She snarled. �Your father and Bardock were worried about you.� He said with concern. �Were they the only ones, Raditz?� she asked with one raised eyebrow. She could see his face turn a little red, and he quickly regained his composure. �Well seeing how everything is alright, I will be going�. �Then have a good evening Raditz. See you around I guess.� She said disappointedly. She turned around and went into the house. He watched her leave, wanting to go to her, but something kept him from going. He didn�t know what, he just couldn�t make a move. Vegeta watched this from the darkness of his room. `Humph, weakling doesn�t know how to handle that woman�, he laughed. He stopped laughing when he thought about Bulma, and what Linhe had said to him earlier. �Argh! That Baka doesn�t know what she was saying.� He retreated back into his room, lay on his bed, and stared at the ceiling � just thinking. |
