Like Mother Like Daughter
Prologue
Her twin's blue eyes glittered with a look of mild curiosity and bewilderment. She watched him carefully, shifting the bundle of cloths carefully on her hip.

"So you're back, huh? 9 months is an awfully---" He stopped, eyes locking onto the assortment of rags.

"What is that, Juuhachi?" He asked, voice resonating on the rounded walls of Gero's old laboratory. His slanted eyes jumped in surprise when the tiny bundle twitched, and giggled in delight. He took a step backward.

"That is a" He stammered.

"Baby." Juuhachi finished for him, carefully unraveling the blanket to reveal a child, no more than 6 months old, with a soft tuft of blond hair growing fuzzily on it's head. He looked at the tiny being, as Juuhachi thrust the bundle at him.

"What do I do with it?"

He gathered it carefully, watching the child in wonder, staring into two blue eyes that looked hauntingly familiar

He looked back at Juuhachi with a raised eyebrow.

"Where did "it" come from?"

Juuhachi stared at him with a look absent of emotion, carefully calculating an answer. Her facial statement gave away no clues, adding to the mystery. With a swift movement of her delicate hand, she pointed to her stomach. Her womb.

" I bore it."

His grip on the child stiffened, a dawning realization of what this fully meant setting in his mind.

In a rare moment of confusion, Juunana let his moth fall slack with surprise.

"What are you saying Juuhachi?" his voice lowered to a dangerously low level, furiously hoping to have misunderstood. But androids don't make mistakes

"You see Juunana, when a human female and a male mate-" Juuhachi replied, thick with sarcasm, her sassy cool manner irritating her brother.

" I don't see any humans in this room, Juuhachi-gou." He hissed, accenting the last word with malice. "This is technically
impossible." He indicated the child, with a sneer.

Juuhachi's eyes glinted in a fury her brother had never witnessed before. " 'It's' name is Marron, and you will refer to her by that name." She snatched the baby back protectively, glaring contempt in her brother's direction over the baby blanket. Her words were final, a deadly warning in them Juunana raged at.

"Youyouconceived this "Marron" willingly? You want to protect this, this human!?" He gestured wildly, not understanding his sister's words or her motives.

"She is mine, I am keeping her." Juuhachi said daring her brother to protest.

"What in the hell were you thinking, dear sister? What pathetic human did you fuck for this beautiful, bundle of joy?" He drew his lips back in a fit of anger.

She stared daggers at him, but did not open her mouth. Her fist twitched silently, a muscle near her mouth convulsed.

"Tell me, Juuhachi. What did you tell the human? Did you tell him you loved him?" He laughed a vicious laughter, sarcasm ringing thick in the dark room.

"What were you thinking? I bet you relished the soft cracking of his bones after you had you pleasure and finished him Juuhachi" He whispered, purring like a demented kitten.

"Shut the fuck up, bastard." She turned her back on him, watching the child in her arms silently.

His face darkened. "Don't talk to me like that, bitch." He threatened. "Look at what you have done! That child is a demon!"  His voice condemned her with vehemence.

She turned back to him silently, chilling his body to the core.

"This is my baby. I am keeping this baby. I will raise this baby, whether you have anything to do with it or not." She bounced the child slightly, who had started to whimper from her uncle's outburst.

"This baby is half of my being, Juunana. If you deny her...you deny me." Her voice turned to stone, daring him to protest. A challenge.

He watched them both for a while, regarding them mutely. His sister's words seem to cut him down.

"Fine." He spoke, crossing his arms and turning away. He fumed silently; mad at this new "player" in his game. He would find a way, todispose of the extra player.

"Good." She breathed. She frowned in her mind, wary and suspicious of her brother's agreement so easily.

"That child will only bring me trouble." He added, a strange, foreseeing tone invading his voice. He looked back at it, grudges still holding. "Juuhachi, that child has no nose" He lifted a lip in disdain. He hardly welcomed a baby of any kind, much less a malformed half human one.

The blond headed android faced toward the darkness, a tear cascading down her face.

"I know."

Just like her father
