T'Pesh says, "Commander Robeck, You've been indicated as a witness to the events which led Cadet Ullan to be facing a courtmartial proceeding. As his assigned counsel, it is my duty to interview each witness and investage the incident so that the facts may be known and the Recruit can have the fairest possible trial. I would like your account of what happened on that day. To the best of your knowledge and from your point of view."
Trysten nods, "Of course, Lieutenant. I'll do what I can. Proceed."
T'Pesh says, "Do you remember when the event took place? what date and time?"
Trysten says, "March 29th."
T'Pesh says, "Give me your recollection of the events as they took place on the night of March 29th."
Trysten says, "I was beamed aboard the Yorktown to take the helm console for the pending mission. Rear Admiral Hoosier was asking Mister Vllan if he intended to step down and Mister Vllan stated he would not be a part of orchestrated genocide."
T'Pesh says, "And what happened next?"
Trysten says, "Mister Hendricks questioned Mister Vllan as to his support of the RSE. Admiral Hoosier then informed Mister Vllan that we were in a state of war and that his comments could be considered treason. Mister Vllan asked Mister Hendricks who would protect the RSE. Then Captain Kersey also questioned Mister Vllan's stance and again Mister Vllan stated he would be party to destroying someone's home."
T'Pesh says, "Was there an official state of war? Had the presidency and the council declared a war at that time?"
Trysten says, "Not to my knowledge, Lieutenant but then I'm a Commander, not an Admiral. At this point we were gearing up for battle and I requested that Mister Vllan be removed from the bridge if his presence was going to continue being disruptive. Mister Vllan strong objected to any actions that would make Diplomatic talks impossible. He was assured by Captain Kersey and Commander Hendricks that the UFP -had- attempted talks and they had gone unanswered by the RSE."
T'Pesh says, "You are however a citizen. Such declarations would be made public knowledge. Was Recruit Ullan's objection duly noted and recorded in the ships mission log?"
Trysten says, "Unknown, Lieutenant and as I am not a member of the Council or SF Command, I can not state what Rear Admiral's orders where. Mister Vllan requested permission to contact Galae'Enriov which Rear Admiral Hoosier denied then stated that we had no time to deal with Mister Vllan and with the current state of the Yorktown that Mister Vllan would be remanded to the brig if he was unable or unwilling to man his station."
Trysten says, "Mister Vllan was quite certain that a message from him would stop all of this from taking place and Mister Hendricks asked him who he thought he was and why he thought that he could indeed stop it. Mister Vllan became very upset at Mister Hendricks questions and told him to shut up."
T'Pesh says, "Of course not Commander, nor am I. The Admiral's orders are not in question. If the Federation was indeed in a state of war, a public announcement would have to be made to inform the citizens, I am inquiring as to your knowledge of such. And you have stated that you are unaware, as am I. However, I will look up the information. Hrm.. I see.. continue."
Trysten says, "I belive Mister Vllan's words were 'Lieutenant, respectfully, shut up.'. I will note that they may not have been in that order but they were spoken. Mister Vllan then unholstered his sidearm. Mister Hendricks didn't care for this attitude and I can not say I blame him. He corrected Mister Vllan's use of his rank to that of Lieutenant Commander and that is when Mister Vllan shot Mister Hendricks."
T'Pesh quirks a brow then after a moment of silence ponderance she asks, "Are there any security logs available which may have recorded the events exactly as they took place that night?"
Trysten nods, "I have a log of those events, Lieutenant but only from the point of my arrival onboard. Captain Kersey stated for Mister Vllan to be removed from the bridge then Mister Vllan stated, presumable to Mister Hendricks, 'You get on my nerves.'. I ordered Mister Vllan to stand down. At this point Rear Admiral Hoosier left the bridge, erected a forcefield, locked out comms and console functions and transferred them to the battle bridge."
T'Pesh says, "If you would please transfer those logs into my DataPADD it would be greatly appreciated."
Trysten nods, "Of course, lieutenant."
T'Pesh says, "One last set of questions Commander, To your knowledge what was the mission and mission objectives that night?"
Trysten says, "At this point Mister Vllan ordered me to step down from my duty and station but I refused to do so. He then tapped his commbadge and stated, "Malink to Galae'Enriov Hexce" This of course didn't work because his commbadge had been blocked. So he ordered me to unlock comms and console, which again, I wouldn't do. So he asked if I was going to be part of the bloodshed or part of preventing it. I stated that he had a weapon on me so he wasn't in a position to talk about bloodshed. Right after that, I was beamed to the Battle Bridge and Rear Admiral Hoosier had Mister Vllan beamed to the brig. As for our mission objectives, I believe it was to locate our personnel that had been kidnapped."
T'Pesh nods to Trysten then says, "The last question I need answered is, were there any briefings to the participants of what the mission objectives were prior to going to the mission?
Trysten says, "I was briefed, Lieutenant. I was also on the USS Reprisal when the RSE members boarded her. So my prospective is different. Whether or not not Mister Vllan was briefed by Rear Admiral Hoosier, I can't answer that as I was not aboard the USS Yorktown at the time that Mister Vllan came aboard."
T'Pesh stands and halfbows respectfully to Trysten and says, "You have been most informative Commander Robeck. I am most appreciative of your cooperation, ma'am. I have completed my inquiry, is there anything else you wish to add before I take my leave of you?"
Trysten tips her head a bit and adds, "Only this, Lieutenant. -If- Mister Vllan was so sure that he was in a position to stop this then he should have stated -why- he felt that way. Perhaps then the out come may have been different."
T'Pesh nods to Trysten and says, "Thank you Commander." she turns and heads for the door. Just as she reaches the door she stops and says, "There is one more thing. Had Recruit Ullan ever acted in this fashion before? Ever any disciplinary problems?"
Trysten says, "I don't really know, Lieutenant as this was really my first contact with Mister Vllan since I returned to duty."
T'Pesh says, "Thank you ma'am.."
Trysten says, "You're quite welcome, Lieutenant. Good luck."
