As you enter it seems this very structure itself grew from the sand it
rests on. The sandy colored walls have ornate heiroglyphs on them featuring a
woman blindfolded with the wings of a bird. There are several benches looking
on to an area that seats someone at the center. To the left of that is an area
that seats six other individuals. There are two areas to the left and right
facing the central seat and a raised dias in the center of the room. At the
back of the room are several benches for onlookers to witness the trials here.

Narcesis stands at the back of the room with his men, looking for something out
 of the ordinary.
<Tuati-OOC> Tuati-BC says, "okay"
<Tuati-OOC> Narcesis says, "Whasssup?"
<Tuati-OOC> Tuati-BC says, "what do you want it to say on the boat when it's
 moving and stuff"
<Tuati-OOC> Tuati-BC says, "the boat casts off?"
<Tuati-OOC> Narcesis says, "I was only joking about that the other day. But
 yeah, that'll work."
"Who comes before the court today?" asks the high priestess as she steps out of
the back and onto her seat in the center of the room. She looks on the room
 and awaits a response.
OOC Narcesis says, "You gonna RP the NPC's?"
OOC Azra says, "sure whynot"
OOC Narcesis says, "I got no problem doing, it. Its your game, you the queen."
An older man drags in a boy possibly a teen or a preteen. "It is I," the old
man begins, "Thoth Asete." The boy struggles in the old man's grasp as he
tries to pull away from him. The boy looks around frantically for an escape.
Finally, pulls his elbow from the man's grasps and makes a run for the door.
Narcesis quickly moves to block the door with himself and the troops.
The boy looking back at the old man doesn't see the Army Captain. He runs
directly into him, his head banging against Narcesis' chest. The old man looks
back at the boy but does not move to give chase. Instead he turns back toward
the High Priestess. She looks down at him from her chair and says, "State the
 cause for your visit today."
Narcesis puts a firm grip on the boy's shoulders, holding him in one spot. He
stops the boy from trying to struggle by squeezing his hand tighter around the
boy's collar bone causing just enough pain to stop the boy.
The frightened boy stops struggling, he looks up frightened at the soldier
tears welling up in his eyes. The old man states his case, "I caught this boy
stealing apples from my orchard in Iunu." The old man holds up the apple and
shakes it in the air angrily. There are six priestess listening and weighing
the complaint. They look on at the court room with no emotion what so ever.
Narcesis seeing the boy begin to cry, he relaxes his grip to the point of the
pain of a soft pinch, still holding him still, but not to make him cry. He
coldly watches the proceedings in the court with very little interest in the
actual content, but listens none the less.
"Boy." the Priestess says peering at the boy who has run to the back of the
room and is being gently restrained by the Army Commander. "Step forward!" she
pronouces. The boy is quivering tears welling up in his eyes. He leans back
slightly instead of moving forward. The back of his head presses against
 Narcesis' chest.
Narcesis pushes the boy forward toward the priestesses away from him with some
force and says in a stern but fatherly tone, "Move."
<Tuati-OOC> Butehamun has disconnected.
The boy's trembling knees quake. "Boy, what clan are you?" asks the High
Priestess of Maat. "I... I.. I am clan Isis. I-I-Isis Nuhanun" the boy
studders sticking his chest out a bit with pride as she says his clan but
sloping over shortly after with a shamed look in his eyes. The Priestess looks
the boy up and down and asks, "Did you bring this shame upon your clan?"
Narcesis watches the exchange.
"I was hunting in the desert to bring food home to my mother. I was so tired
and I had no luck at all and the apples looked so good. I didn't think two
would hurt, there were so many trees there." the boy explains. The priestesses
are silently watching as the boy explains his case.
Narcesis silently wonders if the boy was actually caught in the act or was
 there something else.
GAME: Save complete.
"I will speak the truth," the boy says, "I wish no further shame upon my clan."
He sighs and wipes a tear away, "My father died in an accident making
improvements to the temple of our patron diety." he explains, "It is my duty
to care for my mother as the only male in the house. She is not well. I have
saught good fortune from Hapi, but she has not faired better." He sniffles as
he continues his account. "So you see," he says, "the apples were real
tempting just as I reached out and picked one the elderman was behind me. He
snatched it out of my hand and dragged me here."
Narcesis wonders if the elder even asked for payment before accusing the boy of
 this crime?
"We have heard enough" the High Priestess says raising her hand as a signal to
silence everyone. She nods to the six lower priestesses and they all rise and
exit the room lead by the High Priestess. While the priestesses consult with
one another the old man peers angrily at the young boy, no sign of pity in
 sight.
Narcesis looks somewhat surprised at the quickness of the trial and wonders
what if any verdict can be reached by asking only three questions of both
 parties.
Twenty minutes later .....
The High priestess of Maat emerges from the back with the six lower
priestessess. "As is our way, your words have been weighed against a feather,"
she begins, "and having found both parties to be speaking the truth..." She
pauses and looks over the room. "It .. is... decided." she says slowly. A
gasps falls over the crowd of onlookers and the High Priestess raises her
hand. "This boy has a duty to care for his mother." she says and looks over to
the boy. She turns her gaze to the old man and says, "This man has a duty to
protect his property and investments." She pauses further and says, "This boy
shall be your responsibility," she says to the old man. "You shall have no
slave today but an apprentice," she proclaims, "and you shall care for his
ailing mother by providing him with some pay for his service to you." She
looks over to the boy and says, "You may not leave the service of the Thoth.
You are shown leniency as you are young with no male to show you the right way
to be a man. This shall be the duty of this man and you will respect and honor
him as any father or you will find yourself a slave." "Am I understood?" she
asks the boy finally who nods pittifly with dried tears on his face. She looks
upon the court and announces, "It is done!" She gives a final nod and the
 group begins to disperse.
Narcesis and his troops move aside watching the crowd disperse and the boy and
man leave. He and his troops after checking the building and making sure it is
secure follow the rest of the crowd out.
The boy nods to the High Priestess and walks off into the custody of the old
man. The man does not restrain the boy. The boy follows willingly.
