by constantly composing new and innovative scores for various film projects that come his way. The quality of his music is not only outstanding, but also highly innovative and original. Having worked already with some major top young Directors, Orchestras and musicians in his home country Australia and abroad, Kamil Neumann proves himself in becoming one of the newer highly promising and respected talents emerging among so many composers. His compositions for Films, Documentaries, Animation, TV and Multimedia, are not only highly original in context, but are also of an outstanding professional Composing Caliber. | 2. EARLY YEARS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Kamil Neumann was born in Poland, Gorlice, of both art influenced parents. Where his mother was and still is a well established and respected painter, sculptor, and teacher of the arts, and his father is a well established percussionist, touring the European nations with some of the best known Pop, Rock and Cabaret bands, performing on the drum-kit to Pop, Rock, Musicals and Cabaret productions. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. PRELIMINARY STUDY YEARS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| With a well guided understanding of the art cultivation among his family, Kamil Neumann's musical training first started at the age of seven, when he took his first music lessons in singing and music theory. At the age of eleven Kamil's parents migrated to Australia where his training soon resumed, and at the age of thirteen singing was followed by flute study, more vigorous theory training and at this stage preliminary introduction to composition, as well as simultaneous church organ practice. This was also the first time for Kamil to be seriously introduced to a keyboard instrument, with which he was passionately to fall in love with. |

| It was at this time that J.S.Bach out of all the composers proved to be of great influence on Kamil Neumann's preliminary music thought and ear establishment. At the age of fifteen, Kamil's organ training was slowly replaced by a different keyboard instrument, which was to be the piano. This was mainly due to the fact that Kamil's parents struggled to find an adequate organ teacher, and meanwhile an opportunity had arisen to send Kamil to study with some of the best Russian performers available as teachers for piano in Australia at that time. With his ambition of training to become a concert pianist, Kamil was guided by a couple of such Russian Pianists, who took Kamil under their 'wing of guidance', and proved to have a profound influence on the development of Kamil's musical career. |

| Here I am performing in QCM Bazil Jones Theatre, Liszt Etudes, Bethoveen's "Moonlight Sonata", and my own composition titled, "Creation of the Stars, Moon and the Sun". My composition was previously composed in mind for a short ballet, which envisaged a medium size orchestra, but due to the producers small budget I had to settle for a piano solo with choir. |

| From that moment on, greater repertoire was obtainable for performance to Kamil and the development of pianistic skills became an obsession, which in turn inspired him to aim towards becoming a concert pianist. Concerts were numerous for Kamil during his 'teen years at various school, university and piano concerts and competitions, but it wasn't until 1995 at the age of twenty-four that Kamil's hidden talent for composition was truly recognized by his music theory teacher Mr.Allen Martins. |

| 4. UNDERGRADUATE YEARS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| From that date onwards Kamil's future was completely altered, and although auditioning in 1995 for both Performer-pianist and Composer with Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and being offered an entrance in both, Kamil was encouraged by his music teachers to undertake a Bachelor's degree in Composition as a Major Study and performance as Second Major. Kamil took that advice and pursued his courier in the field of composition. This ambition was realized at first mainly under the strict guidance of renowned Australian composer Dr.Stephen Cronin (once a student of Colin Brumby), Gerad Brophy, and theory teachers like, Dr.Sherly Trembath (AUST), Dr.Gale Schub (USA), and Professor Allan Lane (AUST). During this time, Kamil was also introduced to many outstanding musicians, that proved to be of great importance with their support towards Kamil's composing courier by performing his music on many occasions for various film projects when needed. Some of these outstanding young artists and performers that Kamil had the opportunity to work with on many occasions up till now were, Neal McGregor (Aust., Clarinet), Rachael Duncan (Aust., Soprano), Michael Morgan (USA, Conductor), David Page (Native Aust., Composer), Wll Devos (Aust., French Horn), Naomi Waseda (Japan, Piano), Jun'ichi Harada (Japan, Violin), Geoff McGahan (Aust., Producer), Keith Lang (Aust., Composer & Producer), Caleb Dunstan (Sound Engineer & Producer), Grace, Yu-Ching (Taiwan, French Horn), Katie Noonan (Aust., Soprano) David Pitman (Aust., Piano) Yvonne Lai (Taiwan, Bassoon) Vivien, Yu-Chen Hsiao (Taiwan, Harp) John Coulton (Aust., Trumpet) William Barton (Aust., Didjeridoo) Deborah Cheetham (Aust.,Soprano) David Measham (Aust., Conductor) Kamil Neumann has completed his Bachelor's degree with honors in Composition in 1999. |

| This is a photo of another rehearsal, taking place in one of the theatres. The size of the orchestra is medium, hence the emphasis in this recording was put onto the string section. This ensemble used mainly 10 Violins - 6 Violas - 3 Cellos - 2 Double Basses This medium sized orchestra was used to rehearse and record for a feature Art-film titled, "Gloomy Woods" Directed by Edvard Van Sloan. |

| 5. POSTGRADUATE YEARS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On a successful completion of his Bachelor's degree, Kamil was provided with further study opportunities through acceptance into a MASTER of MUSIC course in year 2000 with Queensland Conservatorium of Music. At this point, with various specific courier options, Kamil realized that his true talent lies in composing for mediums such as Film, Multimedia projects and Theatre companies. Thus his chosen courier path trained and developed his skills in these specific commercial areas of music, allowing him to Major in such areas of expertise as Film Composing, Conducting, Sound Engineering, and Sound Production. This study was possible under the guidance of an outstanding American Film Composer Art Phillips (Composer to such TV programs & Films as Love Boat & Flying Doctors), Dr.Garry Tamillin (Analyst of commercial music), Greg Whiteley (Coordinator of Film Industry relations for artists), as well as Dr.Pall Draper and Geoff McGahan who developed Kamil's skills in Multimedia, Sound Engineering and Sound Production. During his postgraduate years at QCM, Kamil was also lectured and influenced by such classical and film composers as Peter Sculthorpe (Aust.), Richard Mills (Aust.), Bill Broughton (USA), Gerad Brophy (Aust.), Stephen Cronin (Aust.) and Stephen Leek (Aust.). During Kamil Neumann's study and following his graduation, Kamil has already worked with various Top Australian and Overseas film Directors on Feature films, Short Film Projects, Documentaries and Animation, which have taken his work as far as USA, Norway, Singapore and Malaysia. Part of his experience also lies in writing commissioned and/or voluntary works for various ensembles and orchestras in Queensland, like the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra Queensland Conservatorium Youth String Ensemble Queensland Conservatorium Youth Wind Orchestra Queensland Conservatorium Brass Ensemble Ipswich Girls Grammar Band. |

| At present Kamil is operating from his own fully digital recording studio on the south side of Brisbane in Queensland. Where he is developing a reputation as one of the leading Film Composers in Australian Film Industry, capable of bringing to fruition any film project that comes his way. Apart from his obvious skills as a Composer, Orchestrator, Conductor, Arranger, and a Pianist, Kamil is also fluent in the world of sound manipulation by recording and Producing his own CD projects at his studio. |

| Here is a plan view of my entire recording studio from which I work on various film projects. As you can see, various equipment is needed for recording, adding of effects into ones score, and finally for mixing of all the recorded tracks into one track, so that it can be finaly recorded onto a compact disc (CD) for commercial release. |

| Some recordings I may have to perform in a "LIVE" studio environment, before I can take the recordings away to my private Studio for mixing and CD production. This all depends on what the film Director may need, and how big a budget he or she is working on. |
