The Diary of V: The Affair
I really enjoyed this book, it was SO funny,
it takes you through the life of 'V' or rather her diary. It's all written
as journal entries. I don't suggest starting this if you aren't committed
to reading the other two, you'll be left wanting to finish up to see what happens
with V, her son and cheating husband. . V is very easy to want to follow
and be on her side through out the book, you'll find yourself
hooting and hollering for her to get what she deserves. I think this is
because she's so 'normal'.
The Diary of V: The Breakup
In this second
book, we learn more about what V needs in this book, she's searching out
herself and her needs more and going through trying to workout her
marriage. She ends up learning a lesson, and as she keeps on packing on
pounds the gym becomes a funny situation. I couldn't put this book
down.
The Diary of V:
Happily Ever After
The last
installment of V's Diary, though you can read (I haven't) through Redbook
the story, not sure if it continues or what. This is the perfect ending to
a hilarious story. It brings everything you wondered about from the first
to, to an end and makes sense. The
husband is a jerk and you finally see some justice.
Welcome
to Temptation & Faking It
I like Jennifer Cruise and have read a few
other of her books, but I wasn't sure about this one. I ended up picking
this one over another because of where it seemed to be set in time. I
don't think I could read an 'older' book since I'm not a big fan of older
movies and stuff. You get to live along with Davy, Sophie, Michael, Dillie
and Phin, I suggest you read "Welcome To Temptation" first,
before this one if you are going to, then you'll know the back round to
the characters. I just happened to luck out in that I bought Welcome to
Temptation first, and didn't even know I should.
While
I liked both books, the second is a bit harder to follow. There are quite
a few characters and the names, though very different most of them - are
hard to keep straight. I ended up just reading and reading and not really
caring. In the end all the parts fell into place.
She's
Come Undone
This was a great read, it was something I
wasn't quite ready or prepared for I don't think, but I ended up just
falling into the story and sort of relating on some levels with Dolores.
It is though, a rollercoaster of emotions, with so many things happening
good and bad and semi-good and bad to Dolores you just want it all to end
up good and grand and happy and 'perfect'. I read this in one day, I just
could *not* put it down. Wally Lamb did a great job of putting me at
least, in her shoes. Great read!
Good In Bed
This was a
fantastic read, a friend of mine borrowed the book to me, and I've since
bought "In Her Shoes" and am reading it currently. Great, great
read! Cannie is a great character, full of something for most every reader
to connect with her on. The story line is that Cannie's boyfriend has
written about her as 'larger' in a national men's magazine, when she
thought they were on a break but to him, they are already over. The story
takes us through her pursuit of herself and what she needs and wants and
she discovers that she is missing something great. I remember at parts
wanting to cry and laughing at it, but then there were other times where
you just wanted to scream at Cannie!
Rachel's Holiday
Rachel is Irish
and living in New York, she's young and what better for her to do but ...
live it up! But, living it up will send Rachel to the hospital and cost
her her boyfriend and her cushy life in Manhattan. Her family brings her
back home to the 'Betty Ford' Clinic of Ireland where Rachel believes
she'll meet celebrities while she *overcomes* her obstacles, there's
always room for change, right?
