| Week of September 29, 2002 This is the first offical day of this journal.! Where to begin??? Kris, Jack & Carol (Kris's dad and mom) and I went to Old Towne Spring on Sunday to see a classics car show! Was it fabulous!! We saw old vintage Cameros Z28's, old Mustangs (even some Shelby and Cobra), Bel Airs, Model A's, Model T's, and tons more. We went afterwards and ate at Saltgrass off of 45 and it was horrid! The food was bland, and not cooked to its usual standards and the service although very good, was just extremely slow! Kris made a 90 on a marketing exam he thought he bombed! Our new 20 gal long tank and stand are being cleaned and polished up. We will begin cycling the tank so that hopefully soon, our four fast growing cichlids and our brisstlenose catfish will finally have a larger home! One of my closest friends, Frank, is coming home for the weekend from Austin! I am so excited!! For those of you who got to go to my wedding, Frank was the guy who when Kris was blindfolded and trying to get the garter off my leg, Frank sat in my chair and Kris grabed his leg instead of mine!! Since Frank moved to Austin almost 2 or 3 years ago, I have seen very little of him and we started to lose contact. But now that he is no longer dating "the wicked witch of the west", our friendship has begun to renew itself!!! That is all for now! We will try to keep you posted!! |
| Week of October 1, 2002 The past week has been a doozy! The new tank is cycling and decorations have been added and the count down has begun until the fish have a new home. Frank came into town on Saturday and after he celebrated his brother's wedding anniversary (and I got good tounge lashing from Frank's mom - since she did not go to my wedding and I have not visited her in a long time!!) we went to Cafe' Brazil and enjoyed some live music for about an hour or two. Kris went to yet another race and he loved it! Jack and Carol went with Garry (rents Kenia and Kris's guest room) to a car show. I will be borrowing my sister's boyfriend's (Brandon) digital camera so I can get alot more pictures on this website. |

| Week of October 21, 2002 Ok Ok I know, I am slacking...I did do quite a bit of work on this site in the past three weeks or so that have occured since the last posting. The new tank was set up (check the aquatic link for more information), I added some racing pictures (racing link), did some US pictures and some other things...Carol Carlson (Kris's mom) is leaving on Friday for New Orleans, then to Miami (to visit the Altamiranos!!! Kenia's family) and then it will be off to SOUTH AMERICA!!! We are hoping that she is not kidnapped or held hostage...stay tooned to make sure...Kris's dad threatened (well to his mom not us) that if she went he was going to build a pool (yeah!). Well, unfortunetly for us....no pool ...so far....he almost got another Lab though, but luckily for everyone, it had already found a good home! Kenia actually went to see BRAD in concert at Numbers. For those who do not know who BRAD is, it is a band that is run by the guitarest of Pearl Jam, Mr. Stone Gossard. All in all it was an alright concert. Not really what I expected but apparently they do have a following down here in Houston. Mr. Gossard looks nothing like what I remember him back in the early Pearl Jam days (well I guess it has been almost 12 years!!). |
| Week of November 11, 2002 OK OK.. I have been really bad about updating this... If this was not my website, I probably would have been fired by now..but I do have a "real" job. Maybe in the future I will do a monthly update..hee hee. Well Carol is now back safe and sound from South America. Luckily she was not kidnapped or held hostage..(that is what Jack thought would happen). Hopefully we will get the pictures developed and on line soon! Kris, Kenia and Jack Carlson attended some more car races and the pictures should be developed soon and will be updated on the racing site (hopefully soon). Gary had a date...with a girl he met at work (she was a customer!!!) but we have yet to hear any update on this.... Usually I try to only post positive and happy news but as in life, a little rain must fall so ..with a sad heart I must post some bad news ...Kenia's brother Joshua sadly lost a very close friend, Allen. Josh and Allen became friends while Joshua was in school in Bolivia. They remained close friends through out college and while in Austin. Tragically, Allen was killed in a head on traffic accident. Unfortunetly that is not where the tragedy ends...Reynaldo G. Smith (an ex boyfriend but still a friend of Kenia's) passed away last week. Sadly, Kenia was not able (both physically or mentally) to attend either funeral. - Our hearts, prayers and thoughts go out to both families during this time of sorrow. ----- I would like to dedicate this post in memory of both Allen and Reynaldo --- May God Rest their souls. Some good did come out of these painful situations. Kenia has recently been emailing several old and dear frineds from high school. Although the 10 year high school reunion is next year, why put it off till then! |
