My Cichlid Pictures
Thanks to Mr. Brandon Ross for the use of the digital camera !
10 gal tank -notice why underground filters not a good idea with Cichlids-one dug under pot
Original 10 gal with glimpse of new 20 gal
On the right you will see Sapphaire and Steve McQueen about to kiss!! How romantic!! These two are hardly ever apart.
(unfortunetly Mr. McQueen passed 10/12/02 - he will be missed)

Notice how even though Cichlids are territorial, all four usually like to hang out in this corner of the tank.  I am sure they will be even happier in their new 20 gal.
Tibby & Bobbie Lee - if you look under Tibby you can see Sapphaire in the pot.
***Disclaimer:  I am not a professional photographer and these pictures were taken my first time to EVER use a digital camera - I should improve with practice!
Tibby playing ring around the lighthouse...
...apparently she likes that game...(as above)
Come and see our new additions! Plus 55 gallon coming soon!!
Well the 20 gallon has been cycled and set up.  The original 4 from the 10 gallon have been moved in.There was still a bit of aggression between the Red Zebra (Bobbie Lee) and the Bumblebee (Tibby), but things have calmed a little.  I did notice though that Tibby did have scales missing due to some nips from Bobbie.  Kris and I discussed a larger tank (55 gal.+) and it looks like it may be in the works.  Kris and I visited Fishland and... Yes, we bought more fish!!! AGHHHH...  One reason I like fishland is that everyone there KNOWS about fish.  Actually all the guys I have talked to at fish land have been into fish for many years and most of them have a collection of tanks (I think one guy has like 10 tanks - and I do not mean just the 10 gallon kind!). The slight over crowding is not a problem since I check my water almost everyday and do water changes and vacuum when needed.  Here is what we got. 1 Krib, 1 Chinese algee eater (catfish), 1 Lab/Electric Yellow, 1 Acei.  All the old and new fish get along great.  There has been very little aggression, although the new fish know that Bobbie Lee is the General of the tank.  Everyone has found a few favorite hidding places and I have seen new friendships arrise.  Hopefully soon, our small world of Mbuna will be a larger world! Updates coming!
Here is one of the newbees a Pseudotropheus "Acei".  Since all new fish are still pretty small, sexing has not been done.
