I (Chris Sorrell) do not feel as
if I am in a competition with anyone for web design business.
There are many people who are capable of doing a web site
without any knowledge of web design. This is where Chris
Sorrell does separate himself from the competition. A lot
of people design very top notch looking web design, but
they cannot be found in search engines. On the other hand
you have web designers who know exactly how to design a
website, but they're imagination really stinks; these designers
lack qualities that only a professional web designer has.
These people tend to lack the originality to make your business
really stand out from the rest. I ,on the other hand, try
to stand out myself so I would try just as hard for somebody
else.
I've attained an AAS (Associates
of Applied Science) in Information Systems Technology and
a Certificate of Proficiency in Web-Site Design from Mid-South
Community. My time at school has been well spent, because
now I have sparked my curiosity to learn as much as I can
about just design in general. I have experience from my
present job, Sorrell Consulting Engineers, doing AutoCAD
design work. I've been creating my own
music for awhile also. Learn more about Chris Sorrell

There are a couple of things one
should ask before deciding whether a web site is right for
you.
1). What is my purpose for a web site?
2). What do I look to gain from a web site?
3). How much am I willing to put into my web site?
How will anyone find me you say?
You have to target your audience that's how. It's all about
keywords, descriptions, and content.
Target Your Audience
One of the main things
to think about when doing a web site is targeting. Targeting
you audience is the most important part of your web besides
the actual content itself. If you don't have keywords on
your website, forget about ever being found! If you do have
keywords, use them. Keywords are no good if they are not
used over and over in your web pages. For instance, some
keywords that a web designer might want to use are the words
"web design". This keyword is one of the hardest
ones to be found with because every mom and pop website
uses this keyword. Still you want to use this keyword as
many times as you possibly can in your website. The more
times the word shows up in your website, the higher you
will likely place in a search engine. Replication is the
key to success with keywords.
The Content of Your
Web site
Deciding the content
of your website is THE most important part of your
website. What do you plan to show millions of people? You
only want to show them the best you have to offer if you
plan to sell goods or services. Some large companies use
web sites just for advertisement purposes. This can work
for small businesses also; it doesn't look to bad on the
bottom of your business card either. Make your own niche
in this World Wide Web. Whenever you decide to make that
move to the "information superhighway",
