Mario's adventure takes place in the vast Mushroom Kingdom, ruled by Peach Hime. You know that! The Mushroom Kingdom spreads far and wide! You know that many people help ya' out, but what about the places you find these people? What of their villages or towns they cluster in? This is about the villages and towns, and the people you will come across.
The towns you visit may be in many different locations with different looks and weather conditions, but all the villages/towns have things in common. An example would be the buildings in the villages. All the towns/villages you find will have a Toad House and most have a Shop. There are exceptions, though.
A Toad House is easy to spot! It has a sign on it with a picture of a Mushroom person on it! A Toad House is a place where Mario can rest. Ask the host if you can have a nap. When you say yes, you will fall asleep, and wake up revived. All Star Points, HP and FP are to full power.
Shops are in many towns, too! They have a picture of a Fire Flower on 'em. In a Shop, you use the Coins you have collected from Battles or earned for doing jobs for people to buy Items you can use. Items such as Mushrooms and Sleepy Sheeps! Lots of different stuff. Each village/town's Shop is slightly different. The cost of Items can depend on how rare they are in the area. Example; you could buy a Fire Flower from Yoshi's Village (a very hot place) and sell it in Shiver City (very cold there) and make a profit. Keep an eye out for price differences. The shop in Star Haven is the best; much lower prices.
Another thing these villages/towns have in common is Chuck Quizmo. He only shows up in villages or towns. You can find him...around! Mainly just on the side of the path. You'll find 1 or 2 different places in each village he likes to pop up in! Hmmm...but, he doesn't show up in Yoshi's Village for some reason.
Not all these places have these 3 similarities. Goomba Village has Toad House and Chuck, but no Shop. Koopa Village has all 3. Toad Town has all of them, but it has 2 Shops! Boos' Mantion (not exactly a Town) has only a Shop. Dry Dry Outpost also has all 3. Shiver City's got all 3, too! Starborn Valley doesn't have Chuck or a Shop, but only a Toad House. Star Haven's got 'em all, accept I think Chuck only shows up once.
There are a few people in some villages you need to look for. In Toad Town, Merlon, Rowf, Tayce T., the Dojo Master and the Whale (or "Big Tuna" as Kolorado likes to call him) are some of the folks to look for. Koopa Koot might ask for too many favors, but look for him in Koopa Village for a chance for Star Pieces and more. Oh, and the cute little Koopa with the radio in Koopa Village! Up on Shooting Star Summit near Toad Town, Meriow and Merluvlee's house. And Merlee in Dry Dry Outpost that gives you Battle powers!
