I earned a Master in Business Administration with specializations in Management and Organizational Effectiveness, Development and Change in 2006 from the University of Delaware 's Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics. I also earned my BA from UD, with a major in English and concentrations in Business and Technical Writing. One of the highlights of my graduate studies was receiving the UD MBA Alumni Leadership Award. This award is given to an individual who consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities during his or her course of study, and is based on criteria including character, problem-solving skills, accomplishments, and interactions with others. Master's candidates must be nominated and the award is not given every year, so this is certainly one of my proudest accomplishments. As I earned my MBA, I worked for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals at the company headquarters in Wilmington, DE. I began work in Regulatory Information and Intelligence before moving into the Sales Training department. During my tenure I had the opportunity to work multiple sides of the business and contributed to everything from streamlining company-wide processes and procedural documents to delivering training in a corporate setting. By accompanying sales representatives calling on accounts in various territories I also gained valuable insight about selling techniques, strategies, and key success factors for sales representatives. I have also worked at the University of Delaware for a number of years in various roles, first as a student and now as a professional. Currently, I oversee all fiscal and administrative aspects of the Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, I am the Department HR Liaison, alumni contact, and large-scale event planner. Previously, I worked in the College of Marine and Earth Studies for a brief time, where I held a position as the Program Coordinator for the Delaware Sea Grant College Program. In my spare time I enjoy writing, photography, music, baking, creating websites, and life as a newlywed! |
