| STORY OF THE MANKIND |
| 1. DARK AGE.
Historians all over the world have reason & evidence to believe that the first primitive man walked on this earth was about some 40000 years B. C. This period is known as Dark Age because nothing much is known about this man except that he was comparable to a wild beast, he lived in the forest & that he had learnt to stand erect on his two hind legs. In this way this homo sapient mammal species was able to keep its spinal cord in vertical position. Naturally at this stage, he was guided by his animal instinct, so except hunger & survival nothing mattered him. But since the struggle for survival was fierce & continuous throughout day & night, he was growing restless to move out of the forest. It is noteworthy that by this time UNIVERSE was already in existence but not GOD. 2. STONE AGE. About 10000 years B.C. he found a dwelling in the caves that proved to be better -secured & more comfortable than forests. Now his struggle for survival was limited & not continuous, so with some resting time at his disposal his thinking mind took its first flight towards progress & improvement. He carved out sharp edged stones & used them as tools for hunting & also as weapons in self-defence. These were the earliest stone weapons & tools used by our ancestors. According to many historians, invention of FIRE is also attributed to this era, when by chance, by rubbing of two flint stones, fire was accidentally produced by this man. THERE IS NO MENTION OF GOD IN STONE AGE. SO GOD HAD YET NOT ARRIVED ON EARTH. 3. TOWARDS - CIVILISATION. Forced by certain compulsions like severity of climatic changes, & other hazards he left cave dwelling & moved towards plains where he settled on the riverbanks. Between 7000 B.C. to 5000 B. C. he was much a civilized man who had learnt to make thatched huts of clay, hay & bamboos. He started cultivation; also he tamed, herded & domesticated animals like cows, goats, sheep etc. In this fashion civilizations were developing in various parts of the world. WHEEL was invented in this era & the civilization took a quantum jump forward. The progress of science would not have been possible had WHEEL not been invented. With wheel came transportation, commerce & trade. Man was happy, but his feeble mind was yet at a loss to understand various natural phenomenons like sun, moon & stars. Formation of day & night, seasons, how they changed alternately? Even sea was like a monster whom he could not conquer nor he could explore the secrets of its depths. Thunderstorms, snowstorms, famines & earthquakes frightened him. Epidemics, disease, disorders of human body & brain scared him & also on the question of life & death he always wondered but had no explanations whatsoever. His feeble mind had only one answer that there was some universal power, which was responsible for these entire phenomenons, & to this imaginary power he called GOD GOD (MANS IMAGINATION) descended ON EARTH 5000 YRS B.C. MANIFESTATION OF GOD Fear of the unknown has created the imaginary image of God in mans mind. But to please this unknown power he prostrated & propitiated. To sing His praise & to pay Him obeisance Gods manifestations in the form of images, idols, statues were made. Later with passage of time, temples & other places of worship were raised. Rituals, traditional manners of worship, offerings & sacrifices & every other thing thought to be associated with God was designed & created. Once the idea of God came to mans mind, he forgot that nature had also something to do with this universe. But there was no science, no technology, no reasons and only superstitions. Gods empire spread all over. It was believed that universe was Gods creation. We shall revert to it later but first development of science & technology. GOD WAS DECLARED TO BE OMNIPRESENT, OMNIPOTENT & OMNISCIENT 4. CIVILISATION PROGRESSED, SCIENCE & TECNOLOGY DEVELOPED. By the time of Christian era (birth of Jesus Christ) science, mathematics, architecture, medicine (Ayurveda & Unani) was fast developing. Pythagoras, Archimedes & Euclid in maths & science & Aristotle in field of medicine, philosophy & political science had largely contributed. During this time while the general curiosity of the rational human mind was aroused & a scientific temperament was developing yet it was not until 1630 A. D. when Galileo Galilee demonstrated his first ever telescope & the world saw the movements of planets & stars. He proved that the earth revolved around the sun. He negated the earlier claim held by Christian church that the sun along with entire universe was revolving around the earth so that Gods could keep a constant watchful eye on human beings. Before Galileo, due to lack of evidence many were poisoned or even burnt alive for defying the edit of the church but this could not be done to Galileo but nevertheless he was banished from the country for one year. THIS WAS THE FIRST SOLID INSTANT WHEN MYTH OF GOD CRACKED. 5. DARWINS THEORY OF EVOLUTION OF SPECIES Science & technology progressed steadily dispelling many God related myths. But science was not in a position to explain, how this universe was created & how life evolved on this planet earth? Then in 1860 Charles Darwin a biologist put forward his Theory of Evolution. According to this theory, Life on our planet evolved from a single cell creature called ameba or protozoa. This single cell developed in seawater at that moment when conditions for life were perfect. These perfect conditions were presence of oxygen, seawater; a certain atmospheric pressure & temperatures were achieved over a period of billions of years. This single cell ameba can split itself in two parts & both parts become independent single cell animals. Thus the combination of cells created multi cell creatures through the process of mutations. This is a slow process & takes billions of years. Mutations also mean change in arrangement of atoms & molecules in a substance thereby changing its characteristics. Nature caused these changes & in this manner all life evolved on this planet. The smallest insects & the largest blue whales were all the product of evolutionary process of nature. There was nothing divine about them. Darwin further analyzed that in order to live all have to struggle & concluded that it is the survival of the fittest. Those species who learnt to live in extreme climates or those who could live without food & water for longer periods & even those who could camouflage themselves in the face of a stronger enemy & also some species developed some protective shell or cover around them have survived. Darwin further explained that every living creature is made of living cells &that they all have a life span after which they decay & die. For the same reason every living being has a life span after that it must die. So death is no Gods act, it is a natural process through which all pass. LEARN THAT THERE IS NO MERCIFUL GOD TO SAVE & PROTECT YOU. ONE HAS TO LEARN TO STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL. 6.CREATION OF UNIVERSE We started our story of man from dark ages, & have now come to live in highly developed age of science. So we now come to this pertinent & moot question WHO CREATED THIS UNIVERSE? The scientific explanation is The Big Bang theory. According to it some 15 billion years ago there was nothing except complete darkness. The entire matter was densely contained inside a celestial egg, which was rotating at high speed. Out side it was all vacuum. 15 billions years ago the celestial egg exploded with a loud bang & the matter inside it was thrown out & it moved in all directions. The matter was gaseous clouds & dust particles in huge quantity. This matter is the basic material of all galaxies, stars & planets. The matter continues to move in all directions even today. This justifies the theory of Expanding Universe. Since matter continues to move towards unending horizons of the universe, formation of new stars & galaxies can be seen through the HUBBLE TELESCOPE placed at 40000Kms above the surface of earth & also through NASAs Galaxy Evolution Explorer, launched 20 months ago. The process of formation of stars takes billions of years & is caused by natural forces like the force of gravitation, magnetism, friction, momentum & pressure etc. when gas & dust particles cool they absorb hydrogen & helium. These elements collapse under gravity to create stars & galaxies. Thus the entire Cosmos is the product of nature & is controlled by natural forces. Where God lives in this universe, it is anybodys guess! NATURE IS THAT COSMIC FORCE WHICH GOVERNS THIS UNIVERSE. GOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. 7.NATURE VERSUS GOD Nature has no inhibitions. It does not hide any thing from us & is even ready to unfold its secrets, if only we apply our rational thinking mind. God is a myth. He has remained invisible & unknown. We know Him through mythological & concocted stories. Nature takes time to act & to react. In matters of creation of universe & evolution of life on earth, it took billions of years. Its adverse punitive reaction to pollution & deforestation can take a few years, a few decades or may be a few centuries. God acts only through magic- if at all He acts? His all actions & reactions are magical, charismas, boons & blessings or curses. Science has shown that without input there is no output. So there is nothing like magic because one cannot produce anything out of nothing. There is no transparency about Gods concept & also the manner in which He acts. When science & technology progress, nature reveals itself & come closer to man. Science can now explain almost every natural phenomenon; its cause & effect. It answers the questions like Why, When, Where & How etc. Therefore man can use nature to the advantage of mankind. God goes farther & farther into oblivion when chased & explored by science. God & science can never meet on the same plane. Nature inspires awe, fascination, creativity, passion & dynamics of reason, logic & rationalism. Affected by this inspiration, man conquered land, sea & air while space is his next target. God too inspires awe & fascination but more than that He inspires superstitions, fanaticism & religious fundamentalism. GOD IS BLEAK & OBSCURE. NATURE IS TRANSPARENT. 8.CONCLUSION: We, together with this universe are moving in the warp of time. There is a definite relation between time & space. Albert Einstein tried to establish it but remained inconclusive. Once the pieces of this puzzle are set in place, it will provide us with perfect understanding of this universe. On that day the myth surrounding God will shatter totally & completely. MAN WILL BE LIBERATED FROM GOD. That would be the time when nature would get ready for another cycle of destruction & creation. So, we conclude that UNIVERSE is the creation of nature & that there is no existence of GOD. HE lives only in our imagination. Written by, KKGulati. 22 December 2004 P.S.
