Step 6: Insert Your Links

Inserting links can make your web page more professional. A link is a picture or word that, when you click on it, will take you to a new location on the internet. A link will take you to another web page in your site or to another web site to get further information. For example, I put links on all of my pages so that you could still go to all the other pages on my site.

It is very easy to insert links. There are two kinds of links � text links and image or picture links.

A text link is a link where you click on words to get to another web page or site. For example, if I wanted to link to my step 4, this is the code I would use. <a href=step4.html>Step 4</a> You can change the code to fit your needs. I used text links in my web site for the tool bar so you could click on the text to get transported to a page.

An image link is a link where you click on a picture to go to another web site or web page. If I wanted to have somebody click on my penguin picture to go to step 4, I would use this code. <a href=step4.html> <img src=http://www.geocities.com/kam1271993/penguin.gif> </a> I didn�t include any image links in my web site.
