Kallie-B Prophet is known in
the entertainment circle as a
singer-performer, recording artist, producer, studio engineer and an
astute businessman. Presently, he is the managing director of
Studio Quality Multi-Track Recording Studio and shares his interest
between singing and production work. His home-based studio is set
up to provide recording, mixing, editing, voicing and the latest and
most exclusive in rhythm and dub plate cutting.
In
early 1975 he played drums with a four-man group at various clubs.
Then in 1979, Kallie-B Prophet joined the Mighty Mystics
band and stayed with the group until about 1982. He took a year
off from the music business before forming The People Choice Band
with whom he played keyboards and supplied vocals. Band members went
their separate ways after about a year and approximately one year later,
he released his first record, "Rootsman".
That
has since been followed by "Happy, Free and Contented",
"The Girl is Mine", "Come Love Me Girl", and "Du
No Lick the Rock" which were released in 1987. Other releases by
Kallie-B Prophet includes "Lady with the High Heels",
"Someone Knocking on the Door", "Licensed to Kill",
"Tonight is the Night", "Oh Baby", "Enjoy
Yourself", and "I Give You Love". These are a few of the
many songs produced at his 16-track studio.
In
an effort to prove that he can write, sing and produce outstanding
reggae music, in 1994, he released his self-entitled Kallie-B Prophet,
which went on to win the Canadian Reggae Music Awards for
best reggae Album of the year. The album included such songs as
"Can We Talk", and "Let Me Be The First". All tracks
were proposed, laid and arranged by Kallie-B Prophet, including base,
keyboard, percussions, etc. Then at the Canadian Reggae Music
Awards 2000, Kallie B Prophet won the top single award with his record:
"My Rose".
His
latest release is the Kallie-B Various Gold, Vol. 1 in
which he teamed up with fellow artists Carol Brown, Maxi Bryan,
Steve Harper, Sandy San, Major San, Lion I, Laura T, Little Madoo, Lady
P and Tony Toney to produce this new CD. Tracks include
"Little Green Apple", " Rose", "Sentimental
Reason", "Moonlight Lover", "Nice Things Been
Said", "Seems To Me It's Over".
