The route by road is via Gonicoppal, a major town in South Kodagu, which is on the Kerala-Bangalore highway. The distance to Ponnampet from Bangalore is 225 km, and from Mysore 95 km, 53 km from Madikeri and 190 km from mangalore. Ponnampet is 5km from Gonicoppal.

Improvements to Junior College by Kallichanda Cup
  • Over fifty lakhs spent to improve the infrastructure of Ponnampet Junior College
  • Newly made Ground No.2
  • A retention wall worth Rs 7 lakhs built for Ground No.2 by DC of Kodagu under pressure from Kallichanda family
  • A new open well dug for the school; the water is sufficient to cater to the school garden, school hostel, etc.,
  • A plot for a garden in the college campus by the Government under pressure from Kallichanda family
  • Entrance gate rebuilt
  • Toilets and bathrooms built for the boys of Ponnampet school at a cost of 2 lakhs. A similar one for girls will be completed before the event is over.

  • The highest goal scorer of the tournament: TVS Apache Bike, sponsored by TVS Motor Company
  • Winners of the Tournament: Cash award of Rs.30,000 and a trophy worth Rs.25,000
  • II Place: Cash award of Rs.20,000 and a trophy worth Rs.15,000
  • III and IV Places: Cash award of Rs.10,000 each
  • Special award for the best player of the tournament
