| "I'm sorry Captain I don't wish to do this to you but we need this vessel very badly. I can assure you that you will not be harmed in any way, but if we were to allow you to stay on board you would be in great danger when our enemies find us." Captain Janeway tried to reason with her shuttle-jackers, "We can't just give you our shuttle. How would we get back to Voyager? If we go back to Voyager we can just take you to your homeworld." The short purplish alien wasn't being reasonable though, "As I explained to you before our homeworld is too far, and besides since they attacked the ship we were supposed to rendezvous with, we must have a ship to strike them down with. We would lose the war if we wasted time returning to our planet." "bu~" "NO!" One of his companions shouted "Your laws don't enter into this now." "Treg! Calm down. They don't realize how important it is to us, it is not their war." The third alien admonished. Chakotay tried to talk, "I understand, in the Al~" Unfortunately it only served to set off Treg again. This time though he knocked Chakotay into the wall of the shuttle. "YOU DON'T KNOW!!!!" He shouted over and over even after his friends had pulled him off. Yern, the third alien, replaced him inside the forcefield that was keeping them in the back. As she sat down next to them Katherine noticed her slip a tri-corder out of her sleeve. Yern handed her the tri-corder, "You weren't supposed to be hurt.", she whispered. "But it is never a good idea to infuriate Treg like that." Hours passed before Yern was summoned to the front for a few minutes, and although Katherine couldn't understand the words they were saying she knew they were discussing her and Chakotay. When Yern returned to them she told them that they were going to be left off. "It's certainly not the best choice, but you can make do until Voyager arrives." was all she would say. |
