May 22: Much has happened in past 7 weeks. Sophia just attended her first birthday party which was for her cousin Rachael. She's started to sit upright for 3-4 minute streches and seems to recognize familiar patterns. She still likes going to the beach and being dunked in the ocean, as well as the walks around the neighborhood. The new baby backpack has become the prefered mode of transportation. She really perks up when she sees the dog Nika or the cats Cosmo and Ceiba. And she continues to enjoy viewing herself in the mirror.
April 4: A long strech of neglect on this diary. Many things have been happening, perhaps too many. Sophia has meet her other brother Zackery after both he and Josh came for a 1 week visit. This visit coincided with Sue's parents and sister Barbara coming to visit. Sophia's Aunt Barbara came down from West Virginia with her partner Mike. Barbara and Sophia seem to have a profound connection. In the mean time, Sophie has mastered the art of rolling to her side and sometimes manages to pushup on her hands. She's also has learned to mimic Hi and has freaked out a few people in public places. She still manages to stop passers-by dead in their tracks with her infectious happiness.
Feb 11: Sophie gets to see all her favorite RSMASoids while she helps Daddy on his evening shift at the Commons.
Feb 9: During an afternoon trip to the South Beach, Little Sophie seems to notice the ocean for the first time.
Feb 5: Grandma and Grandpa return to Zephyr Chills. Yes home of the tasty spring water. Aunt Frances, Theresa and Brittany come by for afternoon tea although little Sophie sleeps away.
Feb 2: Sophie has too days of non-stop shopping fun at her favorite thrift stores with Mom and her Grandparents. She also had a non-stop sleep through the night.
Jan 12: Sophie's first smile in response to seeing her reflection in a large christmas tree ornament amidst a string of colorful lights.
Jan 15: Had a great tour of Everglades National Park with our dear friends Bridget and Mike from D.C. This was her first taste of the real outdoors. She seemed content with the surrounding and was fairly alert on the Annihinga trail.
Jan 21: Little Sophie starts her day with her first without a doubt full fledged smile. Later in the evening, she makes an appearance at a festival for Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church. She seemed to have a good time with family and friends.
Jan 26: Sophie gets to see her Grandparents again and seems to remember them from Christmas. At any rate, she's comfortable with them.
