April O'Neil was in a horrible mood as she made her way up the stairway of her apartment building. She shifted her grocery bag and her case as she fumbled to get her key in the lock. This had to be the absolute worst day of her entire life.
The first strike had come at lunch, when she had called Casey to see if he wanted to go out for lunch. He had declined, and went on to say that he thought they should see other people. April had listened to the dial tone in shock for a full minute before hanging up the phone.
Later, her boss came in to let her know she was suspended without pay until further notice. He told her that she'd finally gone too far in one of her reports about a government official and he'd complained. She wasn't fired, yet, but she knew that this could be the one that ended her career.
And if that wasn't enough, she found out that her favorite little grocery shop had gone out of business, and she had to go twenty minutes out of her way to get the things she needed. And just outside her apartment building, a car drove through a muddy puddle, soaking her.
April kicked the door shut and set her things on the counter before taking a seat on one of the stools. She sat there for a few moments before burying her face in her hands and bawling her eyes out.
"April?"
April looked up to see Raphael crawling through her window. She quickly wiped the tears from her eyes, but Raph had already seen them. Besides, she was only smearing her makeup more. "Raph, I didn't expect you to come by tonight."
"Are you okay?" Raph frowned. He was worried about her, April was a strong woman and he couldn’t remember when he'd ever seen her cry like that. Something bad must have happened. "What happened?"
April got off the stool. "Nothing, just a really bad day." She forced a smile but Raphael saw right through it. He knew her better than that. They were close, not as close as he wanted to be, but closer than she was to any of his brothers.
"Oh." Raph didn't know what to do now. He wasn't really the type of person someone told their problems to and he had no way of knowing how to make her feel better. He tried anyway. "Do you want to talk about it?"
April smiled again. She appreciated his offer, knowing that he wouldn't make the offer to anyone else, but she knew he was uncomfortable. "No, it's all right."
Raph furrowed his brow. "I don't mind, really." He took her hand and led her over to the couch. As soon as April started, it all came out, everything that had happened to her that day, and even some things from awhile ago. Raph put his arm around her as she sobbed into his shoulder. This wasn't so hard, he decided, he just wished that there was something else he could do for her.
"Better?" he asked when she had stopped crying.
April sniffed. "A little." She really did feel better, it felt good to get this all off her chest. She leaned against Raphael, his strong arm still wrapped around her shoulder. She felt safe here.
Raph ran his hand up and down April's arm. He really liked holding her like this. And knowing that it had been him who had made her feel better made him feel good. April closed her eyes and sighed in content. Raphael leaned down and kissed her temple.
April jumped at the shock that went through her body. Raphael quickly removed his arm and stood up, taking April's startled reaction as a signal that he'd gone too far. "I'm sorry. I'll go now."
April jumped up and ran around the couch to get in front of Raph. She pressed her hands against his plastron to keep him from leaving. "No!" she said quickly. Then more slowly, she added, "You don't have to."
April didn't know what had happened when she felt Raphael kiss her. She'd been surprised, but not in a bad way. The thought of him leaving made her feel sad again, she wanted that comforting feeling of protection she felt with him.
Raphael looked into her beautiful green eyes, wondering what to make of the situation. He wanted to stay, but he knew he shouldn't. He'd had a crush on her for ages, but had never once acted on it.
He didn't know what to think when April pressed forward and kissed him on the mouth. He instinctively put his arms around her waist. The taste was a mixture of her bitter lipstick and her own sweetness. It was awkward, since he'd never kissed anyone like this before, but he caught on fast.
April slowly pulled back, her brain still trying to catch up with what she had just done. She had just kissed Raphael, one of her best friends, and she had enjoyed it.
Raphael caressed April's back. He still wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he wasn't about to walk away from it now. He wanted her, but he didn’t want to take advantage of her. He was struck speechless when April stepped away from him and started unbuttoning her shirt. He felt guilty about staring as she shrugged off her blouse. He inhaled sharply at the sight of her bare skin.
April's mind screamed at her. Somewhere inside she knew this was wrong, but she didn't care, she needed him. She looked up and caught him staring, his cheeks turning a light red. She couldn't help but giggle, she'd never seen Raphael blush before.
"What's so funny?"
She blinked at the serious look on his face and wondered if she had ruined the entire thing. Raphael had a short temper and the last thing she wanted now was to make him mad. She managed to sputter out, "You're blushing."
Raphael looked surprised, then embarrassed. He felt exposed, letting all his hidden feelings and desires out like this.
"It's cute," he heard April say. April cupped his face with her hands and kissed him again. He kissed back eagerly, running his hands over her soft bare skin before tracing the edge of her bra. He fumbled with the hook as he moved his kisses down along her jaw and neck.
April couldn't believe how her body was reacting to this. She never thought she could feel this way about any of them, but she couldn't deny the sensations as Raphael's mouth moved down to her chest. She moved back and out of Raphael's reach, leaving him wondering what had happened.
She smiled and curled her index finger at him as she back up towards her bedroom. He followed her with a matching grin and desire filled eyes. The idea that she really wanted him was still being processed in his mind. She kicked off her shoes on the way and reached behind her. Raphael stopped as she unhooked her bra with a quick snap of her fingers. How did she do that?
Now Raphael was no stranger to what a naked woman looked like, but he'd never been as excited by the sight of one as he was now. Usually it only reminded him of something he was sure he'd never have, not that he couldn't dream. But now, the real thing was right in front of him, beckoning him over to her.
As April's bra fell to the floor, he felt raw desire flow through his body. He stepped forward to help her with her skirt as he bent forward to kiss her newly bared breasts, his impatience getting the better of him. Before he could get a grip on her panties she grabbed his wrists. She ran her fingers beneath the ties at his wrists and started to pull them off.
She went too slowly for Raphael's taste and he tried to do it himself, but she only swatted away her efforts. April found herself curious about Raphael's body. She wondered how like a human's body it was. Was it sensitive in the same areas? She ran her nails up to his elbow pad and Raphael shivered. He started kissing her neck again, running his tongue over her skin, whispering in her ear to hurry up.
It thrilled her that she was having the same effect on him that he had on her. It made her feel wanted. He urged her to speed up, but she wanted this to last, and she was enjoying making him "suffer" as it were.
He managed to push her panties down and they fell onto the floor. His belt fell shortly after, the sai clinking together as they hit the carpeting, then his kneepads. Raphael pulled April against him and kissed her deeply. She reached up and pulled off his mask as she ran her tongue against his lips. He opened his mouth in a moan and she slipped her tongue in.
Raphael moved them both down onto the bed without breaking the kiss. As enjoyable as this was, even April was beginning to lose patience now. She ran her hand up his thigh and under his shell.
"April," Raphael moaned as he tilted her head back to kiss her exposed throat. He growled as she pulled him from his shell. April couldn't resist indulging her curiosity and looked down. Her eyes widened in surprise and her face flushed. It's not as if she knew exactly what to expect, but the sheer size threw her for a loop.
Raphael let out a conceited laugh against her throat and she hissed at him. She continued to explore with her hand, moving up his erection, and down to his tail. She stroked it experimentally and she felt Raphael shudder. She would have to remember that.
Raphael suddenly grabbed her wrists and pinned her down on the bed. He licked his lips before taking her breast in his mouth. He hoped he was doing this right. April wasn't protesting, more like encouraging, so he continued. He kept one hand on her wrists and brought his other hand down to caress her body.
"Raphael," April moaned. He looked up at her with questioning eyes. Do you really want this?
April answered by rolling her hips up against him. She leaned her head back and moaned as he pushed inside her.
The entire thing was almost unbelievable to Raphael. He'd never felt this good in his entire life. Everything was perfect; the rhythm of the two of them moving together, April's hands gripping his body, his own holding her close.
April whispered words of encouragement in his ear between moans. She wrapped her legs around him, pulling him deeper as her cries became louder. The intensity became too much for Raphael to stand.
April let him lie against her as he recovered, but she held him tight when he tried to move. "Stay here," she whispered.
Raphael rolled onto his side, keeping his hold on April. He rested his head against her chest and just held her. April traced her fingers along the features of Raphael's face and upper body. She felt the scars that criss-crossed over his skin; proof of the dangerous life he led. She fell asleep in his arms, feeling completely safe.

April winced in her sleep as her alarm went off. She reached out to shut it off and last night hit her like a ton of bricks. She sat straight up in bed, not worrying about leaving herself exposed as the bedsheets fell from her. She started shaking, what had she done?
She'd made love to Raphael, someone who was a friend, much younger than she was, god, not even eighteen yet, and a totally different species.
She shook her head. It was just a dream. That had to be it, it couldn't have really happened. Just as she had convinced herself of that, a set of strong arms circled her waist.
"Mornin'" Raphael said as he kissed her shoulder.
April turned in his arms. "It really happened?"
Raphael gave her a confused look. "Yeah, if you're asking if we had sex."
April closed her eyes and lowered her head. "I'm sorry."
This was confusing Raph more and more. "For what?" April turned away from him. Raph turned her face back towards him. "April, are you really sorry about what we did?"
April nodded. She didn't want to hurt him, but she felt like she had used him to satisfy her own selfish needs.
"You regret it."
April looked into his dark eyes. "No!" Her lower lip started trembling. "I used you, and that was wrong. It's just that I felt so at ease in your arms, it made me forget everything. I felt protected…wanted…loved."
Raphael gently kissed her. "And you were. I don't regret a thing, and I don't want you to either."
He wrapped his arm around her. "And if you ever have another bad day, call me, okay?"
April sighed as she rested her head on Raphael's shoulder. "I'll do that."
