Heart of Night

Walking through the heart of night,
my chill would become a cold full fright.

The rats would squeel, the mice would jump,
tall dark shadows appeard in a clump.

My mind went  blank; my body went numb,
how many, was there only some?

A figure appeared, strong and tall;
mysteriously he would lean against the wall.

I stepped back a foot or two,
but he was right behind me. I had not a clue.

His hand moved fast around my breath,
every move I was closer to death.

Strong harsh words hissed in my ear, "Don't scream or you will shed a horrible tear."

He pushed my head to the side,
to lick my flesh, I had already died.

Flesh touched flesh, mind touched mind, his lips would part and so he dined.

Time ticked on for a while,
'till my heart stopped beating a minute a mile.

When his sharp teeth released its grip,
he finished by licking his upper lip.

My body was drained, his lips were red,
"Why me?" nothing more could I have said.

A grin appeared for not too long,
for it meant we'd be together, or was I wrong?
