Brief Bio

The label "Gothic" could be applied to me, though I do not go out of my way to pretend that I am dead. Rather, I like to wear black (for a variety of reasons, mainly that I look good in it), and like to think about and discuss the darker elements of life. I am a Scorpio, and do what I can to enhance the strengths of a Scorpio (Sensuality, Honesty, Perception, and Intensity) while overcoming the flaws of Scorpio (Possesiveness, Vindictiveness, Grudge-holding, and Infidelity). I feel that I am mostly successfull so far.

For less important matters, I am currently living in Seattle, WA, and work at Computer Science from Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana.

My hobbies include dancing, listening to music, programming, role-playing games, art museums, plays, hiking, and camping. My musical tastes are fairly eclectic, and include Gothic, Industrial, Techno, Punk, and Classical. My art tastes run to more modern art, especially Surrealism. I have 3 prints by Salvador Dali on my wall so far, and hope to increase this number with time and money. For plays, I like both clasical (Shakespeare, Voltaire, Molier) and contemporary (Mammet). I forgot to mention my love of reading, I love reading classical and modern works, especially anything that makes me think. While I prefer fiction (especially Science Fiction), I also like good non-fiction, such as Cosmos and A Brief History of Time. Plans for summer reading include Frankenstein, Beyond Good and Evil, Alice in Wonderland, and Paradise Lost.

I'd like to include a little note here regarding my summer homes. As much as I love Seattle, I had the serendipitous fortune of getting rejected by Microsoft for Summer 1999. I was hired by Motorola's Urbana Design Center instead, and got a better Software Engineering experience there than I had gotten from Microsoft so far. I also made a ton of friends, which I visit as often as I can. Champaign/Urbana, a pair of cities in Illinois, are the last bastion of hope for the Midwest. That is the only Midwest town worth living in, and I wish I had gone to school there, instead of Purdue. Of course, now after seeing the University of Washington, I wish I had gone here instead of Purdue. Socially, anything is better than Purdue, though academicly I am learning it is quite prestigious.

That is a taste. Again, to quote my friend Tanya, I must be experienced before you can even begin to understand who I am. If you wish to learn more, you may email me.
