During the 1997 trip to the U.K.,
which was my long service leave, Gareth and I hit a number of the U.K. amusement parks.
These included Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures. These
pictures are some of those taken at Thorpe Park, a water based amusement park just outside
London.
Tom was wheeled around due to his rather badly twisted knee. This led to some
real problems with rides in the park, and to a certain extend ruined the day for Tom. We
made light of it as much as we could, and still enjoyed the day, despite some poor
customer skills by some sections of the park.
The group included Tom and Fred, Gareth and myself, Roy and Jess, Jeff and Gig, Jon and
Gerard, and Jon's mum and her lover. We laughed and giggled our way around the park,
and in places were just all out kids...
The depth charge was our last ride for the day, and I will have to scan the pictures
from the ride. On our second go through - we screamed ourselves silly, and Jon and I hit
the barrier at the end of the ride... we ended up laughing hysterically, and when Jon got
out the boat, I just ended up on my back, legs up in the air and unable to do anything.
We gave the staff something to laugh about that day. |
