| Kaley Cuoco�s face is starting to look familiar to the millions who watch ABC TV. As Bridget, the super-pretty daughter whose super-tight wardrobe gives protective dad John Ritter the jitters on the new sitcom �8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter,� Kaley has gone from 16-year-old high schooler to small-screen star. While dining out with a friend recently, several people in the restaurant asked for her autograph. �I�m like, 'You want my autograph?'� she recalls. �I�m telling you, it�s the weirdest feeling!� That recognition is something that Kaley has dreamed about since she could remember. Having first stepped in front of the camera at a tender eight months old, Kaley has endured audition after audition through the years in the hopes of landing a steady television gig. After tons of rejections, Kaley heard some magic words last spring when her cell phone rang shortly after meeting with the producers of �8 Simple Rules.� �The phone rang and my manager was like, �You�re Bridget!�� Kaley recalls, excitement still in her voice. �I was so excited! I waited so long for this to happen.� But being Bridget has meant sacrifice for Kaley. A serious tennis player who has won championships, Kaley used to �train up to six hours a day, but, obviously, I can�t do that anymore.� The blonde actress also broke up with her boyfriend of 2 1/2 years just before the series began shooting. �I have to give acting my 100 percent focus right now,� she explains.Back in Los Angeles, Kaley Cuoco is reveling in her newfound fame. �It�s an amazing experience,� she says of starring in a television show. And if her job evaporates tomorrow? �You have to put yourself out there and keep going,� Kaley declares. rewind |
