Dhikr
The remembrance of Allah Izz O Jall is called Dhikr. It is of three basic
types:
Dhikr Bil Lisaan
By this, the rememberance of Allah by using the tongue is being meant, like reciting the Holy Qur'aan, Salat, Darood O Salam, Kalima etc. using the tongue.
Dhikr Bil Jawarih By this is meant, the usage of various organs of the body in the obedience of Allah, like doing wudu(ablution), saying prayers, doing jehad etc.
Dhikr Bil Qalb
In a Hadith E Mubarika, narrated by Hadrat Aisha Sideeqa (Raddi Allah Ho Ta Ala Anha), the Rasool Ullah (Sall Allah Ho Alaihe Wa Aalihee Wa Sallam) said:
"That rememberance of Allah, which even the Hifza (Malaika) do not listen is 70 (Seventy) times better than the one that they listen to. . . ."
This is called Dhilkr E Khafi or Rememberance of Allah by the heart.
