Motorpsycho will do a gig in Skien

The internationally known band Motorpsycho resently released the album: Let Them Eat Cake, and are now ready for an European tour. Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Italy, France, Netherlands, Switzerland and England are currently on their bill of appearances to do. This underground-bands popularity stretches from Norway to the heart of Europe, and mabe longer. During the ten years or so the band has been in the limelight, a united group of critics have cheered and enjoyed their development as musicians. Their musical style is hard to place: Is it progressive rock? YES! Is it bluegras? YES! Is it jazz? YES! Is it heavy? Yes, to a certain degree. Motorpsycho have wisely chosen to play on several strings at the same time. They put their Cowboyoutfit on and play at 'Down on the farm' in Halden, coams their hair with grease and are going to do a gig at 'Kongsberg jazzfestival' and later this summer they will visit a heavy metal-festival in Netherlands. Sunday the 26st of March they play at Parkbiografen in Skien. Support: Anekdoten(Sweden).

Legendary folkrockers to the festival of Telemark

The folkmusic festival of B this year celebrates its 10th anniversary with the Fairport Convention on stage. The band is undoubtedly the most influental over the last decades in the twighlight between folkmusic and rock. Fairport convention was started in 1967 and has ever since been been playing, though with several line-ups. Musicians such as Dave Pegg (he has also played with Jethro Tull), Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Dave Swarbrick and Ashley Hutchings come to mind. They were all pioneers in their effort to melt toghether celtic & brittish folktunes with electronic and acoustic rock. In the days of future passed (assn.:the Moody blues, HA-HA!) the crew included the late Sandy Denny, whose voice was famous for its expressiveness. Fairport are now setting out on a European tour. From the beginning Norway wasn't included on their bill, but Trond Villa of 'Folque' who jammed with Fairport some time ago, grabbed the phone and called up Dave Pegg, the mandolin/baseplayer/vocalartist of Fairport. He didn't need much persuation to agree on coming to Telemark of Norway, '-one of the places in the world where you still can find the heart of folky tunes,"says Pegg. No date has been set yet.

Bob will apparantly do a gig in Langesund

Bobby Zimmerman or the artist formerly known as Bob Dylan has, (as it amazingly seems) agreed to do a concert in the small and cozzzy norwegian town of Langesund. The day of the gig has been set to the 19th of May, and four thousand tickets will be put out for sale. "It wasn't cheap to get him to Langesund, but we believe Bobs management have recieved an offer from us they simply can't decline," says one of the owners of Wrightegaarden, which is responsible for the hiring of Dylan.
