| Friendster (www.friendster.com) Here are some postings about this site that can be found on Friendster... What's Friendster, you say? Beware...only go to the site if you are prepared to spend endless hours on the net. It is extremely addictive and an immediate time trapper! Please do not risk the frustration if you only have a dial-up connection. On friendster you can set up a profile and look for old, current, and new friends. It is a great networking tool but it is used to find friends and see who knows who and if you know someone he/she knows, etc. Lots of endless fun on that site. Anyway, here are some of the postings that can be found on Friendster... |
| Posted on: September 22, 2003 11:45 AM Subject: The Roof.. The Roof... ... That's right the roof was on fire! But everyone is SAFE and Healthy (depending on the amount of smoked they inhaled while watching their life get burned to ashes). Basically, we have the most important things which is our lives! But everything else burned to pieces. As the house burned I prayed for all of the non-replaceble items, such as pictures and amazingly enough, I was able to retreive some albums. Unfortunately, we were unable to retreive anything else but the clothes on our backs. Since we were on the top floor, and heat rises our sh*t was F*cked UP!!! This has all been a great life lesson for me and will teach me to not become so attached to material things as they can be taken from you with a flick of a candle *no pun intended* LOL. Thank you to all of the people that helped out with clothes, food, and support. Special thanks to Ricky for waking us all up! Don't know what my outlook on this whole thing would be without you! Special acknowledgement goes out to the person who lost the most... Billy Phillips and Omari Phillips who haved lived in the house and in the neighborhood for nearly 30 years. Thanks for your strength! You not only lost your home but you lost many memories.... Thanks again for all of your support. Our new contact info is below. If you can help or are knowledgeable of any agencies that help people in our situation, please let us know. Donations will be accepted and payed forward! Thank you! Posted on: September 29, 2003 3:36 PM Subject: One More Thing.... Hey have you guys ever heard of that girl who spent too much money and spent her way into bad debt? Then she set up a website and asked people to help her with a $1 or $2 or more via paypal and US Mail. Within 8 weeks she raised like $20k. her site is at (www.savekaryn.com) I don't need that much money. I just want to replace some of the things that burned in the house fire. THe bare essentials. I built a website to do the same as Karyn's website and to thank everyone for all of their help and support. It is at ... (http://www.geocities.com/kalberto76_2000) and hopefully you can visit it and either ignore it, or you can send me a buck. If I could get your help it will be payed forward greatly. I have already decided to donate 5% of any donations received via the website to the American Red Cross, because they helped us BIG TIME and help so many others especially in the 9-11 crisis. I want to be able to help them help more people in need. Please visit my site (http://www.geocities.com/kalberto76_2000) and thank you for your time. Also, maybe you can repost this to your personal network of friends? Thanks! ~ Catherine |
