“Excuse me, but um I think you have some Fo’ shizzle on your nose.”

Neologism, the creation of a new word, has helped many different cultures of the world adapt, change, and morph, to modern times.  Many of these newly invented words however, are only beginning to have an influence on today’s society.  Fo’ shizzle, one of the newest, hippest, and coolest phrases has just entered American culture.  Although it has not yet been inducted into the Webster’s Dictionary, this popular slang term has begun to form an industry in media using an “izzle ism.”

Fo’ shizzle.  “Well, um, thank you very much?”  You might be completely mind boggled if you hear such a unique and crazy phrase, however you should not fear this unusual lingo.  Fo’ shizzle is a new phrase that has just begun to penetrate American culture.  Originally coined by the famous Rap artist Jay-Z in one of his #1 hits “H to the Izzo,” Fo’ shizzle has started a completely new era of conversation, the “izzle ism.”  In this #1 hit Jay-Z chants the expression, “Fo’ shizzle my nizzle used to dribble down in VA.”  After analyzing this line, it is quite evident that Fo’ shizzle and nizzle the three non-existent words in the line have no real meaning that can be concluded by reading the phrase.  Therefore I found that the only possible way of obtaining the meaning of such words was to go into the field and do research.  After researching these words and phrases I acquired much knowledge in the field of the “izzle ism.”  First of all, this lingo is only popular on the streets of mainly New York City as it attracts “ghetto” and “gangster” stereotypical men and women.  Secondly, it has also become evident that Fo’ shizzle means for sure, or are you serious?  Therefore parents, grandparents and anyone that has not heard of this saying, do not think that someone is cursing you off.  Nizzle, on the other hand, is just an added accessory of the main thought Fo’ shizzle.  It’s like nizzle is the Versace sunglasses to the Versace dress.  With this analogy in mind sunglasses are not the only accessories that a person can buy.  There are bags, pocketbooks, bracelets, necklaces, etc. just like nizzle is not the only word that goes along with Fo’ shizzle.  There are tons and tons of words, some of the most prominent include hizzle, bizzle, and twizzle.  These accessories to the famous Fo’ shizzle phrase have combined to form the “izzle ism.”  Basically this “izzle ism” is a slang form of speaking that uses made up words that just have the root izzle in them.  This fresh, flashy, and hot new way of speaking looks like a nightmare to older generations.  Many of you might start wondering how serious is this “izzle ism”?  Is it going to take over the world and rule out completely logical English?  What will become of American culture?

Although the popularity of Fo’ shizzle has not spread throughout the country, it has infiltrated the media.  On MTV, the “izzle ism” was used to create the late night show, “Doggy Fizzle Televizzle.”  The “izzle ism” has also been used in such movies as “Head of State” starring Chris Rock and “Malibu’s Most Wanted.”  Even though this “izzle ism” has started to infuse itself into today’s society people should not be alarmed.  These trendy phrases are but a blip in the history of the English language.  Some phrases stay in forever, while others die out rather quickly.  The “izzle ism” might be around for a little while but eventually it will go out of fashion just like bell-bottoms.  Well, it was off the hizzle Fo’ shizzle while it lasted but most things never stay around forever, so when the “izzle ism’s” time comes I big it adieu.
