Synopsis
Two swords, Two choices, One future.  A future that Princess Hinoto, a dream seer that’s never wrong saw; where the Earth is barren and destroyed and only seven remain, the seven Dragons of the Earth, one of them Kamui.  Kamui, the one that holds the faith of the future of the world in his hands returns to Tokyo after six years to receive the divine sword.  He is the only one that can choose whether to be the Dragon of Earth; those who seek to destroy the world and start back from the beginning, or the Dragon of Heaven; the ones who protects the earth and make sure that life continues.  Upon arriving in Tokyo, he is befriended by one of the seven seals (Dragon of Heaven) and only to find out that the Divine Sword has been stolen.  Faced with past friendships and memories and also hidden prophecies, Kamui needs to find a way to overcome all and to make the right choice.  After being led to Princess Hinoto and is explained that the future of the world is up to him, he know has to make the right choice for everyone.  Will Hinoto’s vision become a reality and the Earth will be destroyed or will Kamui make the choice to save the Earth?  Then again, Hinoto has never been wrong.

Video
The art in this is awesome, in my opinion; X is Clamp’s best work yet.  I though the characters were well drawn and had much detail in both the characters and scenery.  There are very fine details, down to the sparkle in the character’s eyes and the fluid movement of their clothes, hair, trees, leaves etc. and also, the characters are just beautiful.  The battle scenes are really cool and it has some of the best visual effects I’ve seen.  The overall quality is pretty good, and might go as far to say that the art is superior to most.

Audio
The sound was great, it went very well with the effects and it sort of makes you get excited and hyped while watching.  I have no complaints about the sound in X, the audio effects make the visuals seem more realistic and apart from that, the soundtrack is really well done that will have your heart pumping.

Packaging
If it’s not to late, still try to get the Limited Edition DVDs while you can.  It’s top quality, each DVD comes in a thick slip case, with a leathery design with a giant “X” with different colors for each DVD and each case has reversible covers for your own taste.  The first DVD comes with a character that if you’re a fan, it’s worth getting and the menus are pretty impressive also.  The box set for X shows the seven dragons on one side and the seven seals on the other and in front, it shows Kamui facing off with Fuma.

Personal Opinion
In my opinion, this is one for Clamp’s best works; I’ll definitely recommend this to anyone.  Whatever your taste might be, I think you’ll like X.  If the story or concept doesn’t really appeal to you, the art and visual effects will.  X is a strong emotional series and well get you hooked from episode one.  I personally loved it and all of its aspects, I thought it was very well thought out and the plot really pulled me into the series; more and more, episode after episode.
