Synopsis
Mars 2046: The murder of a
celebrity reveals the existence of a secret “Third Type” robot
so intelligent and sophisticated that they can pass as humans.
The continuing pubic slaughter of these “Thirds” by the
hate-spewing D’anclaude fan the anti-robot sentiments of the
human population into a firestorm of hate and violence.
Assigned to the case, Ross Sylibus and his partner Naomi
Armitage uncover a conspiracy of government sponsored murder
and forbidden technology that threatens to kill them both -
especially once D’anclaude discovers Armitage’s secret:
Armitage is a ‘Third’.
Video
The colors in Armitage III OVA are solid, with only a slight
trace of grains, hairs, and scratches. Another small problem
with the video quality is that cross coloration is scattered
throughout the anime. There is also some minor aliasing in the
city, and fighting scenes. Jaggies pop up here and there but
not enough that you will notice it too often.
Audio
The audio is moderately good in Armitage III OVA. It is Dolby
Digital 5.1 Surround Sound enabled and the sound seems to come
from all of the directions. There is a small issue with the
voice actors mumbling some lines, but they only happen a few
times during the course of the anime. The music is good but
nothing that we all haven’t seen before. It is a bilingual
anime, and the Japanese track is a lot better then the English
one.
Packaging
The box is a standard black DVD case. The front cover really
got my blood boiling the first time I saw it. It’s a picture
of Armitage with her legs spread wide apart, and a very cute
smile on her face. The back cover has a brief summary of the
anime, running time and a list of the episodes on the DVD
including their names. The extras are good and my favorite
extra on the DVD is the original covers for the Armitage III
OVA. This anime is great and is worth the purchase, especially
if you are a fan of the sagaPersonal Opinion
