Synopsis
Meet the fighter pilots of the 801 Tactical Training
Squadron, codenamed Airbats. With their sleek curves and lightning fast
moves, they give new meaning to the term "the friendly skies" - and I'm
not talking about their jets! The Airbats are the hottest, wildest team of
female flyers you'll ever meet, and when they climb into the cockpit, the
clear blue skies of Japan aren't big enough to contain all the aerial
action these ladies get into!
Whether it's ghost busting the spirit of a dead kamikaze Zero pilot,
facing off against a team of world famous American aeronautical acrobats,
or winning a year's supply of noodles in a ramen-noodle-eating contest,
you'd better believe the Airbats have the "right stuff" to get the job
done!
Video
For an old anime as this, there are few minor problems.
There is a small amount of cross coloration, and some scratches
occasionally but not noticeable unless you are looking for them. The
animation runs smooth, and colors are blush, but have an aspect to them
that makes them come to life. They did a great job transferring this onto
DVD.
Audio
The dialogue is very clear in 801 T.T.S Airbats. I
watched it with the Japanese track first and though that it was very good.
The music was good and sets the mood for many episodes, and the sounds of
their planes flying, are actual recordings that were taken at an airbase.
The English track is also good with a good list of voice actors and some
new and improved audio features.
Packaging
Like many of ADV's American releases, 801 T.T.S
Airbats is presented in double alpha keep cases. The anime is split over
two discs. The front cover shows a picture of the four main girls in the
anime, looking proudly with some jets flying in the background. The back
cover provides a small collage of animation stills and a small glance at
some of the episodes. The discs features are clearly listed in a grid and
production staff information is also there. Personal Opinion
zutto. = forever.
