Here it is!  A new year and a new me!  I had a rough weigh in the last week of December.  That nasty ole' scale put 4 staggering pounds on me!  I couldn't do anything but laugh all day!  My leader even said it was impossible to gain that much fat in a week!  I guess I had too much Christmas ham and other salty foods.  Or my body thought a drought was coming and wanted to be sure we had enough fluids to survive!  :)  Anyway, a week of drinking a ton of water to flush me out plus many good choices put back down 3.2 lbs.  Not too shabby!  I cam away from Christmas and New Years only gaining .8 lbs!  I am pretty happy and proud of myself!  Next year will be better.

So, I was feeling rather down in the dumps Monday, especially after a binge on dip and crackers and chips (all low-fat).  I crawled in bed and got out my Getting Started book.  I read it cover to cover - learned a few things a long the way and got a whole new dose of motivation.  So far this week so good!

I have off tomorrow from work to paint the basement.  Soon it will be done!  Morgan is keeping me hopping.  She is pretty much walking everywhere.  She has started to play babies with her little animals, carrying them around, talking to them, putting them to bed and she evne tried to strap one in the high chair!  What a cutie!

Well, my refocus is to meet WW goal by the end of this month and start my 6 weeks of maintenance.  With any luck, I will have that complet and my own personl goal achieved by the end of February (and part of a finished basement!:))  Hope you all take the time to recommitt yourselves to being the best you can be for you - not anybody else -because you are worth it!

Another week gone by.  I can say I feel pretty good about the last week.  I got in some exercise and lots of painting!  Boy is that ever exercise - 3 coats!  I did pretty good on my eating also.  Even with TOM here I was feeling rather thin today - not a feeling I have too often so I must hold onto it when it comes!  LOL!  Well, the scale told a tale of a loss of .8 and that's it!  Hmmmmph!  That's alright though.  I know I did well and it will show up sooner or later.  The good news is that the .8 loss brought me back to 1.8 to WW goal!  This is what I was at before Christmas.  Now I'm psyched and am looking for this next week!  I know I can reach it!

The basement is coming along.  The ceiling should be done this week and the trim by mid next week.  Our flooring is being laid the 22.  I have a call in about the furniture on order.  Hopefully it will arrive soon!  I am so excited to have more space!  The downside is it is killing us financially!  We are mega broke!

Morgan is walking so much better now.  She still doesn't get up on her own if she falls down unless there is something to pull her up.  She is learning more words.  Let's see... she knows doggie, woof, daddie, da da, mama (sometimes), ba (for baloon), ball and stuck!  She is building quite the vocabulary!  Go Morgan!

Back to work I go....  You all have a great week and keep your new found motivation fires burning!  Mine is scorching hot!!!!  Can't you here it?  Sizzle sizzle...

Happy Friday to everyone!  Well, the movement on the scale this week was minimum, but a movement in the right direction none the less!  I am not upset about the small loss, in fact I am even more motivated!  I have the beginner's motivation again and it feels soooo good!  My neighbor also surprised me by showing up at the meeting!  That helped me tremendously with my motivation.  I am so happy for her that she made this step and I know she can do it!  Like all of us, its just getting to know the program and using it, while eating all the foods we love along the way!  Go neighbor!

So, 4 more days until my next weigh in!  I am psyched!  Even though its been 7 weeks now that these last 5 pounds have been hanging on, I am seeing changes in my body.  Toning - pants fitting differently.  I attribute this to my Tae Bo crunch tapes I have been doing.  Must be building some muscle.  Also, setting daily goals to help me reach my larger goal has been key in keeping me on the right track.  Some of the daily goals I set are water intake, fruit & veggie intake, milk intake, stay OP and excercise.  If I meet my goals for the day I give myself a reward - usually not food related and most of the time free!  Some of my rewards are allowing myself to sit and read a book or magazine for an hour, sleeping in one day on the weekend, going to bed early, taking a bubble bath with candle light and a good book.  Try it!  It might just help motivate you.

On a personal note, the basement is just about done.  The carpet will be here Monday and the furniture on Tuesday.  I am so excited!  Morgan is still learning more words and trapsing all over the place!  She got a shiner the other day by falling on her face!  Hubby calls her Rocky Balboa!  LOL  Anyway, I better go.  you all have a great weekend and dig up that newbie motivation.  It is awesome to have it again!

At last!  The carpet is in, the furniture is here, some things are out of boxes and put out!  My basement is starting to look livable and mighty good if I do say so myself!  Oh, what a task!  Then to dig through piles of boxes and everything is covered in sheet rock dust!  It's awful!  Almost done though - for the time being!

Mr. Scale said I lost a pound today.  Very AWESOME!  Finally a break in the yo-yoing and monkeying around!  The burner is that its .4 from goal!  Now come on!  Couldn't Mr. scale have been nice and given me another measly .4!  Going on week number 8 for these last 5 pounds, but off they will come!  Then I will have met WW goal and have another 5 - 10 pounds for my own goal.  Not sure exactly how much.  i will know when I get there!

One bad thing is that one of my rewards for goal was to get a new wardrobe and that won't be happening.  We are soooooooo  strapped for $$$$ with the new van, new house and basement that we can barely afford to eat!  So I guess I'll just have to continue to wear clothes that fall off me!  I do have a gift certificate to a massage place that I am going to use next weekend as a reward!

Sunday we are having a Super Bowl party.  This will be our first SuperBowl party.  I like it because traditionally I have really porked out at these things!  It is going to be a rush to get the basement ready, but we'll make it.  We are going to get pizza (easy) and have some other snacky things.  Everyone is bringing something.  Funny, I asked one couple to bring a veggie tray and they asked if they could bring something else because they don't eat veggies raw.  What???  Who doesn't eat carrots etc.  Give me a break already.

Anyway, I am ready for another week and hope it goes fast and very well so I can finally get to goal!  I am becoming weary......LOL  You all have a great week and keep smilin'.  It burns calories ya know!

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!  YAHOOOOO!!

I made it!!!  Can you believe it?!?!?!?!  Finally!  After 9 long weeks to get these last 5 pounds off!  I am so happy!  Lots of happy dancin' going' on here!!!  LOL  This journal has really helped me focus and stay accountable!  I have found support in soooo many areas!  Here, the Getting2Goal web-site, my family (mom & sister who are also almost at goal - GO LADIES!), my hubby and now my neighbor is also doing WW!  Go neighbor!  However, I must give the most credit to the good Lord above!  With out Him none of this would have been possible!  I certainly know I alone do not possess the strenght to conquer "the beast".  With His help I have succeeded!  Thank you Lord!

Well, how can I follow that?  Let's see.  4.6 lbs. to go to get to my personal goal!  That will be great and if it takes 9 weeks, it takes nine weeks (let's hope not!)  I have a reward set up for meeting my WW goal, actually 2 rewards.  My immediate reward tonight is to play a board game with dh (something we haven't done for ages - they sparked my interest when I finally got to unpack them and put them away in our new basement) and then a nice cuddle by the new fireplace!  Sat. is my BIG reward!  DH gave me gift certificate for Christmas to a massage place.  I called to set up an appointment and they were havivng a special - schedule an hour or more massage and get a spa service free!  I will be getting an hour herbal body wrap and then an hour massage!  OOOOOOOHHHHHHH - won't that be nice!  All for just $22.50 after the gift certificate (thank goodness cause we are broke!)

When I meet my personal goal, I will use my other gift certificates for new clothes as my before clothes are getting too big!  Can you believe it!?  Then, at some point I am getting the new ring I promised myself and probably getting my others resized!  Oh, I can't wait!

We are enjoying our new basement and new found relaxation time very much!  It's nice to "be" a family again!

My advice for the day:  be true to yourself and your body will be true to you (eventually!)  Keep on pluggin' away - you WILL make it!
