| A HOL Summer Camp activity |
| Hello! As you will already know HOL; Hogwarts Online is having a Summer Camp, thought up by Jessie Barren. My name is Hermione Lucky and I'll be hosting various Creative Writing projects. A Creative Writing Seminar/Contest: This will be my seminar (with an inside contest). We'll do a Character Scetch and a Set Scetch, these will be a little strange, but that's why it's called Creative Writing. These will consist of several questions each. Next we will swictch these papers with someone else and you will use either their character design/your setting or their setting/your character design. We'll go over these and see if there were any ways that you could have made the paper better. We'll make a story off of these. Then we'll do some Continuous Writing stories (these are a lot of fun). A Continuous Writing Project: You and a few other people will form a group which will do a Continuous Writing paper. These will be judged on how creative they are (useing words over, misspelling, bad grammer and so on will take 'points' off). This is optional weather you're in my seminar or not. Dates/Times: July 1st (or start of camp) through July 30th I will try to update things daily, but campers do not have to participate daily. Sign up info: Campers interested need to e-mail me with: Full Camp/HOL Name: Camp House: How often you can check the website/forum and around what time (your time zone times) Your E-Mail address: The time stuff will help me to know when I should get on to update/answer questions. What is this subject? Character scetch: Character scetches are usually done using a number of questions to answer properties of the character. Basic ones like: what the characters personality is and the appearance. The questions we'll use are more creative and will make the characters more unbelievable. Set design: The same as the character scetch, only this will be questions to answer what the setting of the story is like, and what the people are like in the area. Continuous Writing: Continuous writing papers are a paper that one person starts on, and can write about either an assigned topic or just anything. The starting person writes for a set amount of time, then when time is up they finish the sentence they are on and pass the 'paper' to the next person in the class/group. That person writes for the set amount of time, passes it on, so on. When the last person in the group gets it then they write for the time the pass the paper back the other way. If it's in a 'class' there's a set way to pass your paper and how far to pass it. Everyone starts a paper and will get it back, that way everyone is always doing something. NOTE: This is meant to be a fun thing, and we will not get to particular. It is summer after all. All stories written are meant to be fun and entertaining. All are to be appriote for younger ages, especially the Continuous writing projects. These can be made extremely funny without making them perverted or gorey. These are one of my favorite things to do, and I still like them when they're strange. (lol, someone once made people ride 'old fat guys' to another town, but that's not very appriote, if I'm correct they got a detention for that and a few other things.)
