Raijin: Originally, I was just going to call this weeks lesson 'Fliping Out and Killing People' since there are quite a few cards that are essentially that and there's not much of it in the RPG. However, one card stood out. Essentially, it seems that, except for the Crab, it is something that samurai just don't do. To this, I must disagree, Matsu flip out and kill people. A lot. I'm sure that some Matsu that used to be called Doji or Shosuro don't, but that's the exception. The Dragon actually have a disadvantage for it (Enlightened Madness). By the way, I suggest uping the combat prowess of an 'Enlightened' tattooed man. I'm sure the Moto don't hold back on killing people in a bloody fit of rage. So, in order to relieve Rokugan's samurai populace of stress, let us begin. Firstly, going into a fit of rage requires that you have a reason to go into a fit of rage. Death of a family member, daimyo or anything that seems appropriate. Oh, did I mention honour loss was coming your way? 'cause it is. Maybe 2 or 3 points, more if you do anything weird (like not killing the guy that murdered your daimyo See: Ginawa). You should lose control of the character until you finish off the target that caused your rage. Being enraged will force you into going on full attack but you can roll an additional damage die, or perhaps negate |

Also, I'm personally using this rule as part of the Mantis Mercenary package I'm brewing up (I have an overly zealous Mantis player in my group), as you have hell to pay if you stand between a Mantis and his money. Pretty simple mechanics, yes? Well, that was the intent. Other cards covered by this lesson include, but aren't limited to: Frenzy, Tattoo Madness, Song of Blood, and Be Prepared to Dig Two Graves. Bloodstained Rage Just happened to have a nice ring to its title. |
