Founder of the Rikugan no Seifuku. The basic technique used by the ronin army was developed by Ran during his warrior pilgramige. Ran and a rival of Ryuken's, Kakita Himura trained together under Toshiken and Kakita Kaiten before Ran's pilgramige (and Himura joined the Kenshinzen). The two are close friends and in fact Himura was told of the coup not long after it took place by Ran himself.
During Ran's warrior pilgramige he found a reclusive ronin who saught to develop the most powerful sword style. The ronin had spent the entire Clan war and most of the Shadow War observing the assorted fighting styles of the Great Clan Samurai. From there he determined the five most powerful techniques he had observed and spent years attempting to learn them, he developed a style of sllightly flawed mimicry. The ronin was impressed by Ran's eagerness to learn and decided to make Ran his style's successor.
During his stay with his new master Ran also fell in love with a young heimin girl named Sakura. He lived happily for three years studying diligently and living with Sakura. Then the legions came.
Apperantly, some courtier hated the daimyo who controled the village and arranged for it to be destroyed due to a Maho-tsukai infestation. Ran swore that he would have justice for this attack even if to do it he must kill the Emperor himself. He then spent two years preparing the weapon with which to achieve his Justice, the Rikugan no Seifuku, formed largely from those people whom the Empire kept down-trodden, many eta filled out the rank and file of the Rikugan no Seifuku, as did many wrongly dismissed ronin.

Rikugan no Seifuku Technique - Once per round, the ronin may reroll a single one rolled on an attack or damage roll.
Empire's Shadow Bushi techniques
Note: For each technique the bushi must reach rank 5 in the appropriate Know the School. Each technique works as the standard version, except it has some restriction or additional cost, these are follow the technique titles.
Rank 1: The Unrighteous Will Fall (Rank 4 Mirumoto Bushi): May only be used once per round.
Rank 2: Master the Enemy (Rank 5 Kitsuki Investigator): The target rolls, not keeps, two additional dice to resist.
Rank 3: Matsu's Technique (Rank 3 Lion's Pride): Costs a Void Point to activate.
Rank 4: Purity of Fire (Rank 5 Shiba Yojimbo): May only be used against a single target in a round.
Rank 5: The Same Breeze (Rank 5 Kenku Kenjutsu): Roll Awareness + Know the School against a TN of ten times the copied technique rank. It is used as if a Kenku and may only be used if the appropriate Know the School is known.
Items of Note: Momaru (Katana deals 4K3 damage and sets its user's TN to be hit on Full attack to equal Reflexes times five with no armour bonus).
