Joseirashii always found that his sisters could avoid most of the activities he most hated, so he decided he would be a girl. This led to a very strange life for Joseirashii, but admitantly he had very femmine features so the deception was quite easy. Joseirashii mastered assorted courtly skills in order to make enough money so that he could comfortably live.. for a ronin. Eventually, Joseirashii met Kakita Ran and became enthralled with the man's passion. Within the Rikugan no Seifuku Joseirashii's role is that of administrator and to a lesser extent funder. Tatakai and Ran are the only members of the army who know of Joseirashii's secret.
Joseirashii makes up for his relative ineptitude in combat with a suprisingly large arsenal of nemurunai. Joseirashii refuses to explain how he came by these artifacts.
